Not that anyone is really looking at the band when Anita Ekberg is shimmying in chains, but by the way that was RED NORVO on vibraphone leading a very hip quartet. Now I neeed to carefully view the clip one more time----er, just to better study the music.

Best photo I ever saw of her was taken about 1959, and shown in Playboy in the 80s. Full frontal nude, sitting on a wood floor, by a window. Unforgettable.

Bob Hope joked that Anita Ekberg's mother and father won the Nobel Peace Prize for Architecture. And she did have a very pretty face, especially when she was younger. But the bones in her face and body kept growing as she got older. It is the same with many Swedes. Ten years ago I saw a rough, crude, black and white video of Anita Ekberg somewhere on the internet. She was older, in her forties, She took off her clothes about dusk in some fountain and the newsmen were going crazy, jumping into the fountain too, to get a picture. I was disappointed in her, there was something wrong, something missing. Her early Hollywood friends said she was very pretty but she didn't have any soul. There was no joy in her life. Oh, yes, I know she was a pretty one, but what a tragedy! Since she died, they have removed all the negative comments in the internet. They used to call her Ekberg the iceberg because of her cold personality.
