I recognized my brother picking up misogyny in his teen years from my dad who groomed him for vulgarity and women hate. My mom told me that boys will be boys. She enabled it Imo , males lives should be restricted and curfews given to them instead of women’s lives being curtailed It hurts me so much to hear that female military are being harassed abused and murdered. The lack of equality and respect for women is unconscionable Sexism is alive and well. It’s the ISM that needs the strongest support

"Boys will be boys" remains the norm. Until we change the expectations of boys and men we will remain stuck. This is as much a parenting issue as a societal issue. When parents deny and defend their children's bad behavior, cloaking it in "personal freedom", we cannot expect anything different.

Yes. Boys need to become men with brains and hearts and souls. I already hear male adolescents talking about female adolescents in degrading ways and even I as a stranger who is an adult woman feel violated by it. Their respect for women is already gone and broken before they’re even adults. Would they like it if someone spoke about their mothers this way?
