How did you acquire such maturity? Who was your inspiration to gain that maturity? I have two boys. One is just going into teenage age. How can I mould him to such a matured person? Amali Priya - I think it is a valid question and probably one I will also find useful as a parent. I think some of the maturity came from reading books. But more from the fact that I saw examples around me who had improved their lives financially through education alone and also examples of people who have lost their wealth without education. I was not a gifted student and was never a class topper . So I knew I had to put in more effort to compensate. As a parent you can constantly reiterate that message to the kids that their life and their money is only what they earn in life. For me luckily (😂) my parents didn’t have any house or wealth . So I knew I had to earn my own . I think when parents don’t have money, all they need to do is tell their kids about it and how the quality of life will be so much better if they succeed in their life. When parents have got a bit of money it is a bit hard for Indian parents to tell their kids that you will only support them till they graduate or find their feet and then it is their own life. But that is what I would suggest and that’s what I tell my kids.
