In 2019, Chicago police raided Anjanette Young's home after recieving a bad tip. The person they were looking for did not live at Young's home. She was changing and says officers left her naked and handcuffed for 40 minutes. Young is still experiencing trauma today. "CBS Mornings" co-anchor Gayle King spoke exclusively with Young about recieving a nearly 3 million dollar settlement, and what justice looks like today.
Each weekday morning, "CBS Mornings” co-hosts Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson bring you the latest breaking news, smart conversation and in-depth feature reporting. "CBS Mornings" airs weekdays at 7 a.m. on CBS and 8 a.m. ET on CBSN.

@@skie6282 the person didn't give up a bad tip listen to the story again,he was living next door on house arrest. They went to the wrong house, someone was supposed to scout the house or check with the Shariff and make sure the address was correct. The problem is alot of these cops don't have knowledge of the neighborhoods they work in, they are suburban guys out the military or college that just took tests to get these jobs. You are right though alot of this goes back to the leadership of these departments, they need people from these neighborhoods being involved in law making instead of just cherry picking fake paid for representatives.

I agree. I have seen a lot of disturbing and way more graphic/gory videos, but this one has stuck with me since I first saw it when it made the news. I still remembered her cries, and hearing them again in this video just brought back all that hurt I felt for her. I can’t imagine how she felt that night, how she still feels years later, but the bravery she was able to find to show the world what was done to her is beyond my comprehension because I don’t think I could’ve been as strong as she has. I’m glad she got some financial compensation out of this disgusting incident, but I know she would give it all back in a heartbeat to have never had it happen in the first place. Every single one of them should have been fired the day it happened, and until they are, justice will NOT be served.

Anyone who has been on the receiving end of armed police when they're innocent, have no idea what's going on and are not about that life will know that no amount of money will undo the anxiety and the quiet rage that you feel for many years when this happens, made worse by no acknowledgement or apology. Then, your neighbours think you're up to no good so you better hope you never need their help; and you end up moving house when you hadn't planned to, at your own expense - and are unable to concentrate at work because you're spending time writing to authorities who don't respond and you have to get on with your life like nothing happened when you weren't sure if you were gonna live through the experience. They blasted in this womans apartment while she's naked. Knew in an instant they were in the wrong place and ends up in a battle against the city that wanted to sweep the incident under a rug.The least they could've done was apologize but that's too much. I recall mayor Lightfoot and the new police chief having a fierce press conference about holding officers accountable for their incompetence. The mayor was supposed to protect this womans rights. How about if you're going to conduct a raid you make sure you have the right address? People on the outside looking in thinks gun violence alone is Chicagos biggest problem but there is also a bad policing problem. I'm from Chicago and there are police precincts sitting in some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the city and yet damn near 100% of homocides go unsolved. They are useless and the reason why they can't protect the citizens of Chicago is because they are wasting time engaging in nonsense like this.

It's a known fact that the police department does not care about copper color people , there are a set of rules for white individual ' s and another set for people of color.all of those officers needs to be fired including the sergeant and the mayor for lying because before the mayor is a lesbain she is a woman of color first. And for her to set up there and try and sweep this under the rug just shows me that she is like the rest of people of color with high ranking position's like the black Caucasus and operations push the rainbow coalition they have all sold out our people so that they snd their family could live comfortable this is why we as Negees have not made any type of positive moves for our community or neighborhood's. The black Caucasus needs to give up their seats because how are you helping the Asian and the illegal's coming across the border's get policy in place for them but you have not done anything for the very people you claim to help black Caucasus is so full of shyt .just like that officer that killed that young copper color young man he gets out thursday that's not justice that shows you the 2 different types of laws they have because if that was a person of color he would of gotten the max sentence and would not be getting out early because of good behavior. That police sergeant that frame those black men.all of this crime going on in chicago which police arent doing their job because they could never invested their way out of a paper bag? They are just going after our children when they are the ones doing all of this killing of our babies, thats why they never have a lead or anything as far as shell casing the color of the cars. The Most High has the last word and once he starts making you guys reap what have sown karma.
