Dimash works with kids in competitions, judging and encouraging them. This is so much like who Dimash is. He would step down in a moment for children. For older people. For women. And like the judge from Kazakhstan said, this is who he is because of, in part, his culture. He's extremely giving and compassionate. As you said, ego is not in play here, nor is a fear of losing. I stand by his choice. It only reinforced in me who I think he is as a person: caring and so very honorable.

Phatrix123, we shouldn't believe everything we see on TV. It is all highly edited for shock value or their gain. Someone who was at the taping of the show stated that Dimash had enquired before the competition began whether there would be children competing and was told no. According to the person who was at the taping, When Ru Paul said “you knew what you were getting into”, Dimash replied no...he was told there would be no children. Also, he spoke to the judges and withdrew from the competition before he sang (not after as shown on CBS). He put his whole soul into Adagio and they edited it unmercifully and didn’t even attempt to do a good job with the editing. Danileya also says the competitors were forbidden to talk to each other or watch the other competitors so she and Dimash did not know the other was one the show!!! Here is a quote from an interview with Daniliya "The format of the show is such that we were forbidden to talk to each other, to share information. Also, we could not see the performances. And now, when I watch the show, I just wonder what kind of cool things the people we saw in the dressing rooms and corridors I realized that the competition is very strong. Already near the end of the show I was surprised to learn that Dimash was also involved in this project. Because under the terms of the contract we could not share information and communicate, neither did he know that I was participating in project, and neither. When we met, we experienced Wali about the same emotions at the same time we were happy to see each other, but were a little upset that we have to compete, "-. the singer said. Димаш и Данеля и другие участники не знали кто участвует в шоу. Они узнали только когда встретились там! Был контракт о неразглошении информации. Димаш на шоу сказал о том что никто не знал о составе участников, но это вырезали. Судья из Казахстана вчера об этом подтвердила. Поэтому Димаш тоже был удивлен и отказался соревноваться с детьми. Это для него неприемлемо- соревноваться с детьми.

I agree with you. Dimash has so much honor, morals and high character to continue to compete against the kids. Americans need to have more of these in themselves. The song was heavily edited from the beginning to the end. What a shame. He stepped out of the competition after he performed to pave the way to the 2 children he competed against. He received backlash from 2 of the judges, Ru Paul and Faith Hill. According to their culture, an adult is not allowed to compete with children as they believe that young people are the hope of the nation. Dimash apparently was not told that he was competing against children even when he asked the show if there were children competing and was told NO. They lied to him first of all. I thought in the other hand that it is for Western exposure especially here in America to make it big. @@phatrix123 totally get where you're coming from. I dont recall everything that was said last night during the show, but I made mention of him being on a different level. That is only my perception. Yes it's world's best for kids and/or adults, and those kids-all of them that were feauted-have more talent in their pinky than I have total. I can see that and respect it, but in terms of practice, it's only my opinion/perception that, Dimash is in a different league because he has years of experience over them-and all of those kids are accomplished and will get there, i just dont personally feel they are there yet.

@@phatrix123 It is different in eastern cultures. Adults and kids just dont compete with each others. It is considered unfair, children should have their own platform to shine. Cant explain it well, we westerns may not understand that because it is not like that here. And many posts from the audience has said that he replied to rupauls comment: I respectfully remind that before I sign up I asked if I would be competing against children and was told I wouldnt. That was a precondition for me to participate to this competition.

I went to Itunes and I bought all his songs the ones I din't have, I was like someone with so much integrity deserves my support, I would support him from now on till the day I die. Someone who gives a chance to a child in my book is a winner. I tell about him to everyone I know and what he did for those kids... He earned my respect. I knew him since the singer back in 2017 just as singer now I will follow him like a real fan.

Marq Barrientos, we shouldn't believe everything we see on TV. It is all highly edited for shock value or their gain. Someone who was at the taping of the show stated that Dimash had enquired before the competition began whether there would be children competing and was told no. According to the person who was at the taping, When Ru Paul said “you knew what you were getting into”, Dimash replied no...he was told there would be no children. Also, he spoke to the judges and withdrew from the competition before he sang (not after as shown on CBS). He put his whole soul into Adagio and they edited it unmercifully and didn’t even attempt to do a good job with the editing. Danileya also says the competitors were forbidden to talk to each other or watch the other competitors so she and Dimash did not know the other was one the show!!! Here is a quote from an interview with Daniliya "The format of the show is such that we were forbidden to talk to each other, to share information. Also, we could not see the performances. And now, when I watch the show, I just wonder what kind of cool things the people we saw in the dressing rooms and corridors I realized that the competition is very strong. Already near the end of the show I was surprised to learn that Dimash was also involved in this project. Because under the terms of the contract we could not share information and communicate, neither did he know that I was participating in project, and neither. When we met, we experienced Wali about the same emotions at the same time we were happy to see each other, but were a little upset that we have to compete, "-. the singer said. I feel he did the right thing, too. I have never felt it was right to pit adults against children in competition. I also don't understand how shows can have singers compete against magicians, acrobats, dog trainers, or what have you. Makes no sense. If what I have read here is true, that he'd asked about children being involved, and he was lied to, then he definitely did the right thing. I am ashamed that it was the U.S. that showed the world how devious these competitions here are. Dimash showed amazing class and maturity.

Great reaction.. you say what I had in mind yesterday night...It would have been so nice to ear the (whole) song.. The TWB is not respectfull .. last time.. they cut Daididau completely and this performance of Adagio was incredible to do in 1 minute and couple of seconds. Terrible! But Dimash dit it with grace and power. Respect for Dimash.. and James Corden was respectful. Rupaul was so rude.. shame on you. Ok we can be disappointed but dont need to call him ..a load of bull...t !!!! Dimash is a gentleman and keep his dignity. . the Kazakhstan culture teach you how to help children for the future, I imagine even more when they are so talented (sport included etc.) Dimash was help by his family, elders, teachers, community to reach what he is now. I think it was the right decision, since the show wasn't even honest about anything to begin with. He did not know he was going against children. Which isn't fair, and he didn't disrespectful the show, RuPaul is mad because now there's no show. There is a rumor that this show was created to center around Dimash, and it just happens to have back fired on creator Mark Burnett. He didn't need this show, this show needed him. His talents out weighed what this show ever offer him. It wasn't about the money, he doesn't need money. His mom is a soprano and dad is a pop singer (I believe) in Khazakstan, so they're not in the poor house. I'm glad he left, because this show bombed anyways. He will get a better debut in America, this was not it. I can only imagine his thoughts about America now. We were so lucky to have been graced by his short presence.

They cut his performance in Pieces. They just edited the hell out of it. Impossible to do a reaction on something like this I guess.The judges and the audience in the studio did hear the Full Performance. I am very angry with TWB for disrespecting Dimash and his fans by this horrible editing. And RuPaul was totally out of line , so disrespectful! Dimash is a Noble Man! So Proud of him!

@@danielterres957 The beginning of the song with a piano part Starting with " I don't know where to find you" was completely cut out. No short version would cut the beginning of the song. He was singing it while playing the piano, editors cut it. This left the viewers wondering what Dimash was doing at the piano to begin with. Than at 0.51/52 the part is cut out, that's why we hear the jump over the musical phrase that would not be possible with any short version, only if the short version was done by a kid who knows nothing about musical phrases. At 1.00 another same type of a cut, Basically if hypothetically speaking the sang a shorter version ( which I don't believe he did), what we see is whatever is left of it. When you know the music and the rules of the musical harmony and phrasing , you can see that the song was CUT by the editors, because no professional arranger would produce this mutilation . And Dimash would not sing it either because he is a Professional.

To be honest, I was so damn pissed when I saw this video. Like, you can truly say he is one or is the best singer in the world. He just entered this competition under the preconditions not to compete against children’s. It takes such a pure and warm heart to go on this big stage and say that you’re going to quit for the younger ones. And than there are this poor judges which are as half as talented as him and having the audacity to call *him* *disrespectful* ?! In watching this video, it is important to understand that Dimash quit before the performance and still came on to perform with professionalism. He told Ru Paul to his face that the first question he asked was are there going to be children in the competition. That in his culture, adults do not compete against children...they instead lift children up to give them the greatest hope in life. Ru Paul lied to him and said NO there will not be any children. Then he had the balls to call Diimash disrespectful. Of course it was all cut out of the show to make Dimash look like the villain.

Carolina, DEAR, you say "True or not." Dimash was assured that he would not be competing against children. Prior to his signing the contract entitling hims to enter the competition TWB he explicitly asked if he would be compete against children, and the American organisers replied, NO. In the last round, had it happened, Dimash would have competed against the Kazakh girl Daniela(?), whom Dimash knows very well and had supported in so many ways. Dimash donated his London concert (19 Nov 2018) proceeds to her so to enable her to participate in TWB show.

Seppo Kanerva I have been following Daneliya since her blind audition on the Ukraine Voice and love her. I worded my comment as I did because I have read comments explaining that Dimash ran into Daneliya backstage and both were surprised to see each other. Dimash asked the producer if he would compete against children and was told no which was a lie. Since I have only read these comments on KZbin and not in news articles I purposely worded my comment the way I did. Those of us that are true fans and probably those who have been won over by Dimash’s talent and morals will understand and believe him as you and I do. Dimash felt very strongly that he had the duty to step aside and promote the children. He is a remarkable person and genius singer. I also worry that some judges may have taken out their anger on poor Daneliya since she was from Kazakhstan too. I was very angry that the talentless and rude RuPaul said, “he was witnessing a star born” when Dimash was a superstar way before this stupid show. I know Dimash will continue to help Daneliya and all of the children.

As his father state in his IG, Dimash knew it was children in the competition late in the show. He was shocked but continue till the moment he was confronted to them, that he was waiting not to happen. He would never feel fine winning the competition breaking the heart of two children. It is like get a 100 meters run with mixt ages. All the concept of this show was wrong. It is not because you can (mixt ages) that you should. For Dimash it was a moral decision. Lets respect that.
