@@radicalrick9587Unfortunately HOAs can put restrictions across a wide range of a things. In California HOAs are governed by a state law that requires HOAs to publish their rules in a formal document (CC&Rs) available to prospective buyers. So by purchasing a house in an HOA, you agree to abide by these rules. Many people don’t understand this and end up running afoul of HOA rules. Over the years I’ve lived in HOA communities that are well governed, those that do not enforce rules at all, and those run by power mad control freaks who seem to delight in lording over other people. I’ve lived in regular communities where neighbors generally took care of their property, as well as a few where houses were rundown, littered with trash, or rented out to party animals. PS Four years ago I installed a 15 kw solar system on my house. The HOA reviewed the plan and approved it. The whole review process took less than two weeks. It was really no problem.

Kim, always love your content, but a 3.8 kWh portable battery is basically useless for charging your Tesla Model X. My Model Y has a 75 kWh battery pack and a 3.8 kWh battery would provide approximately 5% or 12-16 miles. And if you factor in the weight of the portable battery, your SOC would be impacted significantly more than 5%. Great idea for charging a golf cart or e-Bikes. I have the EcoFlow Delta Pro and charge it using my portable 400 W solar panel and then keep my golf cart and e-bikes charged up.

For sure, we talked about this later in the video. Definitely not meant for taking along for the 15 mile range boost but more for a back up home setup for emergencies and outages where you can power your home and even your EV in the emergency situations.

Ordered one last week early enough for 45% discount plus the expansion battery for emergencies to replace our gas/propane generator. We also already have the smaller Anker 767 (aka solix 2000), which is much more portable. I paired it with 800 watts of portable solar panels that is great for camping and trickle charging our Tesla via 110v (requires a $3 neutral to ground bonding plug since the Tesla charger is expecting a true ground).

Kim thanks for the review, we are Tesla campers so this a great product for exactly that! Power our portable fridge without drain the EV battery! As you know the Tesla model Y and Model X require either the Sentry mode or camping mode on to keep the 12 (actual 16volt) rear vehicle outlet active which draws more the the fridge alone.

Wow 26kwh can power your house for a week? For me our 25kwh battery would only power our house for 2-3 days during winter. We are all electric with heatpump. In summer we don’t use any grid at all unless we have more than 3 days of bad weather lol

Although it's only 3.8 kWh, the fact that it's portable is a real plus! It'd be great when camping, especially if coordinated with an Anker portable solar panel. I like that it has a NEMA 14-50 outlet, perfect for onboard charging "bricks." That wouldn't be possible with the V2L outlets that other EV makers now include with their vehicles.Too bad Tesla has yet to emulate their example. Hope your beach trip was a relaxing, fun break. I love Laikyn's donkey, BTW!

You could use the Anker to rescue a stranded, out of power EV. It will provide at least 10 miles which should be enough to plug into the grid somewhere. I strongly prefer charging an EV than calling a tow truck. Be patient because charge time is about 45 mins. I don’t think we will see a portable DC charger for EVs for many years. Tesla probably has one for internal use only.

I think the best scenario for something like this is to take it camping and pair it with a foldable solar panel. Using it to charge your car makes little sense, however. Let's be honest: you're going to probably lose 15 miles of range just carting that heavy thing around! If you put yourself in a situation where you're stranded and need that 15 miles of range, you messed up! Just plan things out better and make sure you charge at a supercharger or a dc fast charger!

A Giant Chinese battery/generator company gives away a few FREE 5k generators. That 5k dollars! These "reviewers" all look very legit, but seriously...are they really legit? It's almost disgusting. ALL of these reviews come from people who were given generators for their review. yeah these things are cool, especially the Ecoflow Ultra, but in reality you need a gas, diesel, or propane generator for any long term needs...more than a day a two. Get a duel fuel, run it on propane, and you won't have the problem of gas sitting for a long time. Imagine, you buy a predator, Westinghouse, or champion 12500 duel fuel for 1500 max. Done. These power stations are just a shiny object. Good for Van Life, I own two Ecoflows, but they are not serious for home backup.
