The Zolo is Anker’s new budget charging line. I believe it’s designed with developing markets in mind.
@shanetempe903 ай бұрын
The brand name Zolo has actually been around for a little while. I had a pair of earbuds from Zolo back in 2018/2019 maybe and where my very expensive earbuds journey began 😅. They've been owned by Anker for as long as I've known them. I haven't looked into when they were founded or whether they were acquired by Anker later on. Knowing Anker I would wager they founded it themselves but I digress :)

@@shanetempe90 I remember it to be one of the earliest true wireless earbuds in the market. I guess they decided to “reuse” the brand on something else 😅

Another difference is the price. Prime day was $20.00 after tax for the single ucb-c cable 10,000mah version. This one with the 15% off for 10,000mah was $34.00 after tax. So a $14.00 diff. I would just have a USB-C to lighting adapter instead.

Great design from Anker, I didn't know about this line, and I will be ordering the 10k powerbank. It reminds me of my first INIU ppwerbank, which had exactly this design and digital display that was touch sensitive. The iniu version was 10k too but had just one cable attached to it instead of two like the Anker Zolo. INIU included two other short cables for lighting and micro USB in the box so you pick what you wanted. They also added a USB A LED light

10k is about 2 charges on most phones. iphone 15 pro max has a 4.4k mah battery, s24 ultra has 5k mah.
@wwjoshdew3 ай бұрын
the math isn't perfect. some power banks are more efficient than others. It's not as simple as dividing 10k by 4k. @allthingsoneplace has the tools to measure a power banks efficiency. Some of of them store only a fraction of the energy it claims. some you pay (for example 7 dollars for the energy it takes to recharge, and you get back 4 dollars worth of energy). 10k is perfect for one device in 2024 and anywhere between a partial, medium, or full charge a 2nd time. Just depends on the phone and how big the battery inside it is.
@midegola56233 ай бұрын
@@wwjoshdew true i did kinda base it off my 10k anker power bank that charges my s23 ultra to full twice, with a tiny amount left over.

Great vid as usual. I like Anker products especially the Prime Big Boy 250w I bought but powerbanks Asian markets have had these Type C & Lightning cable built in to their powerbanks for over a decade already. Some even have the old (outdated) micro usb as well. So this isn't new for me. #JustSaying
@wwjoshdew3 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing!! I know built in cables has been a thing for a while. I prefer them. Some hate them. Some people look at a power bank with a built in cable like it’s a ticking time bomb. When in reality, all power banks are. Eventually you’ve recharged it hundreds or thousands of times and it no longer holds a charge. Or the built in cable stops working. I am okay with taking that risk. I mean, I can just grab a 1ft type c to type c cable and plug it into the available port anyways.
@TardymoАй бұрын
Cable is "included" not "free". And I wonder why 10K was empty. It should have come partially charged. Better for the battery that way.
@mkdinosss93333 ай бұрын
good in general, i like anker for power but the build-in cable is a no no for me and that goes for all things tech(io hubs, ssds, etc)
@Making_soups3 ай бұрын
Why
@mkdinosss93333 ай бұрын
@@Making_soups you or anyone really do not want build-in cables because cables take the most damage on the regural. You dont want your only way to use your device to be that easy to stop working. In this case the build-in cable is not the only way to use the powerbank but the reality is that anker could for little to almost no extra space have put an extra port there insted of having that build-in cable. Why anker choose that? Well: 1)Marketing trick, were now they tell you that "your device comes with an attachment loop and ready to go cable" so you can be "worry free" of "forgetting to carry any cables at all" 2)More sales, if you can break it easier you will buy another one other faster. In my opinion it almost hits the "right to repair" case were users will own a half working/worth device the moment that cable, that gets crazy stress, fails. 3)Its cheaper for them, as the extra port would cost more than that funny cable they put in. Even if the build-in cable seems breaded that wont save it from being always grabbed by that point and always be the primary cable to be used when charge is needed. By the way the "extra cable" that comes in the box is completely different (way worst) from the build-in one and that because if they used the same rounded non breaded cable for the build-in one, the product would have a super sort lifespan. Remember that anker can provide other ways(structural for example) to provide the same product in terms of features with better usability and longer lifetime but that would cost them on thier profits so here we are. Also think of having one (of the many that are out there) portable ssds were the only io is a build-in cable. The ssd could cost a couple hundred bucks, were the cable costs way less and one day POOF and your damaged build-in cable made the whole device worthless and thats without saying that your data is locked in there now.... My rant is now finished and my job here is done xD

I ordered the Zolo USB C a couple weeks ago. If only they had this one at the time of Amazon Prime Day, I would've bought that. I have family with older iPhone tech, so having a power source with a lightning cable is huge! Especially since some of the family members don't bring cords when they come to visit. I bought the 10k version earlier this week. How long will that take to charge? I wish these zolo banks did 30 watts input.
