The Empire was unequal and exploitative but the Imperial Federation would be a union of equals the standard of living would be far higher across the federation and all of the members would be democratic compared to the modern world where the majority of the ex British territories are poor and oppressive with many having fallen into religious extremism. The existence of the Imperial Federation would of course also have major effects around the world and fundamentally change the cold war what exactly would happen couldn't be predicted but having a second democratic superpower would likely be highly beneficial.

Irish reunification is an unavoidable eventuality in every one of these except the isles, celtic, north sea, viking and jacobite endings and the "reforms" in the isles ending would have to be too extreme to be imagined in the context of real britain. the "communist" ending fails to acknowledge that both Irish and british communists strongly support Irish independence and even if allied to the point of federation would remain sovereign of eachother.

You’ve gotta be pretty thick to ask why, but let me help you out as a British guy who moved to Germany. When we were in the EU, I was an EU citizen. I had the right to live and work in Germany. When Britain left the EU, my EU citizenship was stripped from me, leaving me no right to live and work in Germany. I had to apply as a foreign immigrant for permission to live and work here, instead of being allowed. I currently have a 5 year visa to do that which expires shortly but will probably be renewed. So, Brexit made it harder for people leave the UK by robbing them of an EU citizenship they already had. Of course, you can still move here, but it’s now more difficult and more annoying, and you’re not guaranteed permanent residency.

Wales itself was a region *in* England between 1536-1967, and was a colony before that. Scotland and England are one another’s biggest trading partners, and have shared the monarchy ever since the death of Queen Elizabeth Tudor, of whom had made Mary Queen Of Scots’ son her heir. Northern Ireland is the most likely to part from the U.K (dissolving the U.K, but keeping Great Britain) due to the Republic Of Ireland- though, they are probably the most patriotic in the U.K and hold quite a lot of strong-hearted loyalists / unionists, so it’d still be a fair while (in my view) before Ireland would be able to annex and incorporate them. Don’t forget the U.K’s strength in navy and nuclear weaponry. I highly doubt the U.K and Ireland would officially declare war anytime soon. It would get the E.U, N.A.T.O, and probably the Commonwealth involved, and the two countries have relatively alright relations politically to my knowledge.
