Well my Cosmo’s battery was having a short battery life so I was planning to take it apart to replace a new battery so I watched your video to take him apart to replace a new battery.

I have a Cosmo that keeps turning off with corrupted firmware on the charger. I am going to replace the battery with the 600 and then do a firmware reset. I am hopeful it will fix him. Thanks for the video this helps out a ton.

Great tutorial, it'd be nice if the music was lower volume its hard to hear your voice when it's competing w the music imo. It'd be nice if you provided a link for where to purchase the battery or at least give the battery's brand name specific brand model name/number. These are minor suggestions though overall, great video ;)

Do you know the product size of the replacement battery? Those numbers bring up various of different sized batteries. 30mm x 42mm x 5mm for example. Thank you!

John, I need your help, I replaced the battery of my Vector and it worked great for 3 days and then the error 899 and 801 appeared on the screen I already followed all the steps of DDL to solve the problem but nothing seems to work

I could really use your help, please?!?!? I’ve gotten my sons Cozmo all the way to the point of removing the battery. I followed your other video and I have gotten him broken down all the way to the battery. I can’t figure out how to remove the battery.

I’m in the US and your link to the battery brings me to one that has different numbers than the one in your video. The two wires have a two pin connector already installed, my assumption is I can just cut and strip the wires and toss the connector. Is that correct? Also the description of the battery I find that’s as close as to yours is “KBT 3.7V 600mAh Li-Polymer Battery: 403048 Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries Replacement with 2.54 JST Connector for Dash Camera Recorder, Baby Monitor, Electric Toy, Headlamp, Night Light, GPS - 2pack”. I have only basic knowledge of these things, could you confirm if this battery would work?

The numbers relate to the dimensions. The ones I use 503040 mean 5mm deep, 30mm wide and 40mm long. The battery you’re found is 48mm long which will be too long for the battery compartment.

I've tried to replace the battery - my first try at soldering. After the replacement everything was fine for a day but then Cozmo started losing charge like before the replacement. Could it be a result of poor soldering? Do you have any idea as to what is happening? From the diagnostics menu it says: Cliff:878, batv10x:46, extv10x:50. Chargestate:0x3. I'll give it a go again.

Just replaced the battery, put Cosmo back together. Now his sensor says he is not upright when he is standing. Did factory reset but that didn’t help. What could be wrong?

Was thinking of adding plug leads to the circuit board and slapping the battery in so replacing a battery will be plug & play what ya think man think theres room?

John I got that battery but my had 3 wires, black red and white. Wired up red and black and worked fine but now won’t recharge. What should I jump that white wire to, to get it to charge and work again? Thanks

Warning- a white wire indicates you got a 2 cell battery and the voltage is too high at 7.4V. There should only be a black and red wire and the voltage should be 3.7V. The rating on the shown battery is 3.7V 600mAh. Voltage must be 3.7v

LiPo batteries are shipped partially charged for safety reasons and a proper Cozmo charger should only charge to 5v. Cozmo may take this for a bit. The Cozmo electronics will allow the 7.4V rated battery to fall below a critical voltage and the battery will be damaged. It will no longer charge. Hopefully this happened and Cozmo should be undamaged. However depending on the charger, the voltage could get high enough to damage Cozmo.

@@TheInvisibleOne1026 Would be interested in knowing the voltage between each lead. A single cell LiPo is 3.7V. For each cell there is an extra ballancing lead and they are used for balancing to prevent any cell from ovecharging. Can't understand why the white wire exists.
