On my channel there are 30 + videos of an ion propelled craft that can lift its power supply, but it requires very specific and lightweight construction to make it possible. The earlier "flight" video released by UT on their website, restarts the camera angle about 8 times. On the middle 5 or so momentary clips it is shown starting from a higher point each time. That leads the viewers to think it was a 15 second flight instead of a perhaps 6 second or so flight? Update: Very recently they released a video with sound. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5rLoaV5aq2onJY. Their craft does in fact have a loud ducted fan in the middle. Since the lifter part has a low thrust to weight ratio, it is hard to see how the leaf blower component wouldn't fly better without the lifter. They also very recently had a patent application published. It is for a "heated cathode lifter." There have been heated cathode lifter videos online, of the same design, for over a decade and they produce not that much added lift, and about 40% less thrust per watt. There was an earlier video of the craft showing a large lever attached holding up the craft with a counterweight/bucket and external power supply, that video seems to be taken down now. I agree with the other viewers that it may have a ducted fan in the center at this point. Mr. Pribanic is named in a leaf blower patent, but no other patent applications have been published that I could locate. He had posted that it was supposed to be patent pending in 2018. I've been working on an ion propelled vehicle for 22 years that does in fact lift its power supply. It is the only one that can do it solely with ion propulsion. However, there is no known physics that would allow a purely ion propelled craft specifically with the weight and geometry of the UT device to lift its power supply or a payload. It is concerning because people can become confused when it comes to what the capabilities of ion propulsion actually are. Please see US Patents 10,119,527, and 11,161,631, and the over 30 videos of my craft in flight with onboard power, but please keep in mind, that no ion propelled craft is going to lift several pounds and its power supply, unless it covers a much larger surface area, has a much more efficient geometry, and is built much lighter, than UT's craft. There are other factors as well, such as a novel power supply. As Carl Sagan once said extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. He might as well be selling "Undefined Properties..."

This looks interesting. The older asymmetric capacitor "lifters" used aluminum foil on a balsa wood or plastic frame, powered by 35,000VDC. But, as we can observe, the flight is stable and the drone does not fall on its side after takeoff. These panels on the sides create traction, which compensates for the torque and makes the drone stable. In an interview, the inventor himself says that stable flight is achieved by changing the thrust power on individual panels. It's simple, my friend. And don't confuse people with your comment. Plus they had to use all the latest material technologies to make it as light as possible. Still quite a feat of engineering. The simplest part was computer control of the different quadrants.
@KraussEMUS12 жыл бұрын
Pribanic has made a long list of statements that do not appear to be correct. There was a video of his craft online suspended from a lever with a mop bucket on the other side of the suspension lever. The craft was externally powered and even then, produced nowhere near enough thrust to lift its frame without a heavy counterweight. He said his craft was silent and then later said his craft reached a milestone of 85dB from 95db. I have heard their video of it with audio on their website and it is clearly very loud. His craft cannot lift its power supply and a 2LB payload for 15 minutes using ions like he claims. It has the same geometry as a heavy 2 stage "ion lifter" which produces 1/2g of lift per watt and with his well-known "heated cathode" lifter, even less. It takes a thrust to weight ratio increase of hundreds of times to get an "ion lifter,' to carry its power supply. If it could fly at all with onboard power, he and his group would be violating my patents that cover any ion propelled craft that can lift its power supply. He says his craft is "the first breakthrough in 100 years." It takes attention to microns and milligrams, as well as unique geometry and a novel power supply to have onboard power with ions, not to mention many years of work. The UT craft does not have the features required to work at all without a powerful ducted fan. There is a flying ducted fan craft shown online called the Ikarus. Although it operates at a slightly lower frequency, they now often make leaf blowers for instance work at a higher frequency to reduce perceived noise somewhat, but ducted fans/leaf blowers are necessarily very loud.

@@debrainwasher The UT craft uses a loud high powered ducted fan for propulsion. On my channel are the only ion thrusters that really lift their power supplies vertically. The crafts work by just adding electrons to the outer shells of ambient O2 molecules. O2 has a strong affinity for gaining extra electrons that is why it is called an oxidizer. By creating small amounts of negative ions in the oxygen component of the air, an airflow can be created without requiring the energy to reach the ionization potential that you were referring to. These don't need to be silent actually. The sounds a craft makes can be outside the range of human hearing, like what a transducer produces. I live in San Antonio and have seen some pretty spectacular flying craft near Randolph AFB. One night about 3 months ago, just as I was about to head to bed, this crazy sound was heard for about 30 seconds. It was as if my roof was being vibrated at a frequency higher than the wood and shingles could manage. Even my cats were freaked out by it. All of them were standing on high furniture while staring at the ceiling. I've never seen pets do that before in 40 years of ownership. I was fairly freaked out and nervous to step outside to see what was causing it. There are several types of transducer-powered levitation devices that can be made from a kit. They can keep the air entrained between opposing transducers so much that small objects like aquarium gravel can be held solidly in place. Although the devices are silent, the high frequency air waves still caused audible vibration in whatever microphone device is recording nearby (which sounds amazingly like the sound my roof was emitting that night). The craft I witnessed near the air base would go from ground level to approx. 10K feet within 5 or 6 seconds then smoothly come to a stop, even in 30 knot winds. They can sit precisely still, despite strong gusts. They appear to be able to simulate many different lighting configurations from a single dim white light (as a star would look) to a full red/green flashing as seen on traditional aircraft wingtips. Often they will go completely incognito by turning off all their lights entirely .. sitting still silently in the darkness. I'm wondering if somehow they are using a phased array of transducers to grab and entrain air molecules from above the craft, moving them below and keeping them in place using ultrasonic sound waves. If the air cannot escape from below the craft, then it could be able to support large amounts of weight, like a solid.

I literally invent things all the time, normally everything I can see in my mind, normally just works out. I have never had any funds to be able just fund one good practical invention, my life dream is to invent myself back to be able to walk again. Then have a huge workshop and a team of people, so we can make the world better. I can even write original fantasy stories out of thin air, I worked out so many things, and even worked out the whole of creation, and how everything was created, if I could get a special helmet made, I know how to see through our future selves eyes, the most I have seen before it happens is about 6 hours so far. I hope that one day I will be able to get money from future knowledge to then use to fund future invention projects. I accidentally discovered seeing a future event 23 years ago now, and I have had time to work out how to make technology so that I can train myself to do it myself. But we are only projecting our consciousness to the future through our own eyes. So I guess I could say I did time travel for real. If only a person will deep pockets could at least let me be part of a team.

Ever since I saw someone on KZbin do a test with using an ion drive in a vacuum. I said hmm... It doesn't seem to work well in a vacuum, but it works really good in an O2 environment. This could replace a drone and I stumbled on this video. Great jo!

You can plainly see the intake fan in the middle during test flight, which they were hiding at the convention. Also, if the panels are providing all the thrust why do they bend downward like they're gonna snap off when it lands as though they're barely hanging on?

This is a "Naudin lifter". The best one that i've seen, so far. It works like a light weight version of those ionic fans from the early 2000's. I think some MIT students made a model airplane version of a lifter. So, instead of hovering, it flew. You can make your own rudimentary version of this with scrap items. Just don't electrocute anyone. Caution ⚠ High-Voltage.
@KraussEMUS12 жыл бұрын
Neither regular lifters, the MIT glider, nor the UT craft can lift their power supplies vertically solely with ion propulsion. The UT craft uses a ducted fan and none of those craft have a sufficient thrust to weight ratio. LIfters used to require external power supplies weighing kilograms to lift a tethered model weighing grams. On my channel are a series of ion propelled crafts that are patent for lifting their onboard power supplies against' Earth's gravity. There are a lot of details that have to be right for it to work though, and those details are missing on the other three types of crafts mentioned.

1:27 - That looks rather like a ducted fan cowl in the middle there... I'm kind of thinking this is fan lifted and uses ionic propulsion to stabilize it. This has many hallmarks of hoaxes I have seen in the past, hence I am skeptical. Also the HV lifters people are mentioning in the comments, are not capable of lifting any meaningful amount of weight as they fly electrostatically, and are not capable of carrying their own power supply. Something just doesn't stack up here...
@KraussEMUS12 жыл бұрын
There is one type that really can lift its power supply. It is demonstrated in 33 flight videos on my channel, and there are 2 patents specifically especially for it lifting its power supply. I agree though that the UT craft uses a ducted fan. They have a video on their website with audio.

@@KraussEMUS1 I get the overall sense having seen many video like this over the years, that show very little progression in the field, that the principle of ionic lifting is probably best suited to zero gravity environments - however as this effect largely vanishes with the atmosphere, it could be very hard to convince me that this is the way of the future for cost effective transport of anything more than a few grams
@KraussEMUS12 жыл бұрын
@@TheAussieRepairGuy Well, the crafts on my channel lift their power supplies. That represents a huge improvement in thrust to weight to do it in real life. They look similar to other EAD thing on the surface but there are actually an awful lot of changes needed to make them lift their power supplies. You are right though unless they are very large, they wont lift much weight except for a few small optional propellant tanks, ultralight solar cells, and a small camera and video transmitter.
