Can you feed him if so how? Can you play games with him if so what games? Does he need an app or what is required for him to work? Please help thanks in advance If I brought one today will he still work fine, I ask because I heard the company sadly went bankrupt & I'm not sure if he was meant to have updates

Nah, he’s just an expensive desk toy. He’s slow, like a bad Echo Dot on wheels. Yes he’s cute, yes he’s funny, but I really don’t think he’s all that, he makes all the cute noises etc, but a long way yet to go. The fun and novelty factor is definitely there, but not very practical.

If it had Alexa in built it would be better straight away. Is it a gimmick, maybe a bit. But it’s a good start to robotic interactions with more personality, that is also affordable. I think it’s a good step forward, but I agree it is very much the fun factor for most.

Henry Reviews It would be better if he had Google interface and my Alexa is not as good as google in responses and continuity of communication. Although it’s an absolute definite start, it’s like comparing a Commodore 64 to the latest interactive gaming platform. Only time will tell and this little guy may inspire the next Elon Musk or Bill Gates just as Star Trek inspired most of the tech we have today.

Henry Reviews I think early reviews aren't good for this platform, Anki keeps sending units to KZbinrs for reviews, but in the reviews we can only see what he does right now and it isn't very impressive because he was released just recently. Big update is coming soon, Alexa integration and more animations, future updates will bring even more fun features, but real fun will start after SDK release and applications from community, it will be hard to get bored with him. Hardly anyone has mentioned this.

Mich Skib oh wow, that’s good to know. You’re right, I’ve not heard anyone mention that information. But I remember when I first bought a Robo Sapien back in 2006, after 20 mins I was bored, oh by the way RIP Jibo 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@HooverLux I feel sorry for Jibo, imo he suffered the same problem vector does, too early reviews and to many problems that were fixed shortly

Poor, expensive, useless. The wheel has already been invented, this is a poor example of reinvention. Google, Siri, Alexa have already been invented and in most ways, far better, quicker and more usable and useful than Vectors gimmick. Anki should of left it the professionals, not try interpret yet another poorly executed none standard into what’s essentially a toy. On a plus note, Vector don’t need to be linked to a phone to perform and operate like Cozmo did, but for the most part, Vector will just wander around aimlessly before heading back to his dock (if he can always find it) Another negative is the number of reduced interactive cubes from 3 to 1. This is bad planning. Part of the charm of Cozmo was the interaction he with himself with his cubes, whistling away as he happily stacked them on his own or throwing a tantrum and knocking them down and throwing them around, that was cute, even playing snap with him. I cant see the sense of taking 2 cubes away, that is a bad move! Also, do you want your kid playing card games? Are anki trying to get kids hooked on gambling? Veckor should of been leaps ahead of Cozmo on this release, sadly it is one step forward and 3 back and far from worth the asking price. Poorly thought out, Vaector is trying to be a jack of all trades but sadly master of none and has sadly lost all the charm of his little brother Cozmo sadly. Another point is the sealed battery! My Cozmo over time built up a great little personality, sadly he developed an issue with his battery and had to go off to have it changed, I got him back and he was blank, completely lost his personality and it was like day one again! After that, I lost interest and he sits on the shelf collecting dust now sadly, no point putting effort in when you lose it all with a simple battery change. Just goes to prove you could have 50 million lines of code and still could be as bad as Vector currently is. Another wasted opportunity to perfect Cozmo. Save your money and avoid,

Some very valid points here Sam! Thank you for the rounded view

@@HenryReviews Thanks Henry. Have edited my comment and made it more readable, was on the train going home when I wrote it and could not see a thing! Being the owner of an original Cozmo, Vector is a huge disappointment for me sadly.

why are you comparing voice assistants with a companion robot ? apples vs oranges, vector will be great after SDK release. The reason vector has 1 cube and blackjack is because he is targeting adults (watch some commercials), for kids is cozmo, same reason why Anki didn't port games from cozmo to vector

The way I see it, your words are like poison, Of course Vector is different than cozmo or Google or Alexa or Siri, but who cares! Vector is kind of supposed to be a Charming Voice Assistant! not something creepy! You know what Anki said, they said that Vector is a big milestone for robotics because For the First time ever, everyone who have a robot in their homes and that's never happened before, vectors not like how you put him. sure he may need a little more updates before he's completely perfect, but the way you're speaking your acting he's the worst thing in the world! and he's not! the way I see it, you are! You know what, if you don't have anything nice to say about the little robot then don't say anything about him at all. Anki did the best they could to create Vector! they've been working on for 5 years! And they didn't do all that work just because some jerk tried to talk bad about him! They did it because they want their customers to have a voice assistant that's actually not creepy and has a little bit of a personality! You don't see him like that, you see him like he's a piece of garbage. But no matter what you say it's not going to change the way Anki makes vector.
