I purchased the M5 about 11 days ago. I have been testing its various attributes. The one on which I am reporting now is the blood pressure reading. After exactly 50 tests, I have the following data: For my body and this watch the systolic pressure reads 20 ±5 low mm Hg. Therefore, whatever reading I receive on the watch for the systolic pressure I must add 20. However for the diastolic pressure, the readings were almost exact. They varied only about ± 4 mm Hg from a true value. All this is relative to my spygmomanometer (fancy word) using an arm cuff. I calibrated my spygmomanometer with my doctor's procedure where he used a cuff and listened with a stethoscope for blood flow. Therefore, I believe my spygmomanometer to be quite accurate.

Excellent report and thanks for taking the time to post. I don't remember if this is on the app for the M5, but for some of them there's a "Personal" setting for blood pressure which allows you to enter your typical readings. After that, it uses your values rather than the typical 120/80 to calculate your BP. You see, these diodes and the software basically calculate a deviation plus or minus from a fixed value. It should be more accurate if you can set the app closer to your actual numbers. From a workout perspective this would be like putting in your stride length for computing distance run derived from step count Without an accurate stride length, your distance will always be off by a regular amount in the same direction, too short or too long, based on the default stride value it uses. Hope this helps.

I would like to see how the GPS accuracy is on these watches. Like versus a premium Garmin. To compare the GPS tracks. That might be a good addition to your reviews. Using the reviewed watch and then also a Garmin and showing two images showing the tracking on the same route. People think GPS means GPS. My daily watch is a Dr Viva P1C (Makibes BR3), and it has GPS, it can track you, but it SUCKS.

Don't think you will have to worry about GPS tracking on these watches. I use a cheap Elephone W7 I purchased from AliExpress May of 2019. It was only $22 with built in GPS. I run 3 miles 6 days a week and it is always accurate. I did a review of it on my KZbin page. It is rare to find one for sale because tech moves Soo quickly. I will use my W7 until it gives up. I'm wondering what is the battery life is like on this particular watch.

Well, the best I can say about the D18 is that it's the first one I've seen that is actually being honest that it is only IP65 water resistant. I'll pass on reviewing this one. There are much better ones on the market, most of which I've already reviewed. Thanks for the recommendation though.

If you're in the $500 range, then of course a $100 watch will suck for your expectations. Check out some of the WearOS watches or the Galaxy Watch line if you want a reasonable comparison. If you're into fitness there are several with great features that supersede the Apple watch capabilities. Pick up the Spovan Blade health band, for example, and monitor a nightly lorentz scatter plot of your heart health, or ope it into a chest adaptor and run real time ECGs, or have the band vibrate when you stop breathing from sleep apnea because your blood oxygen level dropped while you were asleep, and do it all for one tenth the cost of your new, shiny $500 Apple Watch.

I did it. I distribute this watch in my country (Chile), and I tested it with the president of the Latinamerican Society of Cardiology, and accuracy is 90%. The gap comes with pacients with higher blood pressure indicators.

Just for your information and possibly to assist others, I relay this information. I have a OnePlus 6T cell phone that functions perfectly except when attempting to pair it with the Anmino M5. It takes me 30 minutes or so to pair it. I go through all sorts of iterations: turning the phone off then on, restarting the phone, turning the watch off & on, turning the Blue Tooth on the phone off & on, going into my phone's Blue Tooth settings, uninstalling & re-installing the Smart Time app. When I attempt to "Add New Device", it will search and always find "M5C" (aka the watch) with a strong signal strength. Then when I press the M5C bar it begins the "Loading" procedure and that is the problem. It will "load and load and load" for about 2 minutes and finely quit. I can do it 10 times and it will never pair with the watch. That is when I go through all the iterations mentioned above. Finely, somehow after going through all the iterations several times, magically, it does pair. And, when it does FINELY pair, I notice that the systolic blood pressure is about 20 points lower than my cuff sphygmomanometer but the diastolic pressure is very close. So, that is my sad story - - maybe it will help others who have the OnePlus 6T knowing the eventually, the watch will pair with the phone.

More accuracy test : M5 vs Garmin 245. My Garmin 245 cost about $240 3 years ago and gives me all sorts of data, some of which is present in the M5. I did 5 runs of about 5 miles each and will compare the typical results. So here it is ---> mileage - - Garmin 4.79 miles, M5 4.85 miles, steps/minute - - - Garmin 168, M5 161, minutes/mile - - - Garmin 8:55, M5 8:50 (hey, I'm 74 years old, give me a break), heart beats/minute - - - Garmin 128, M5 140, calories burnt - - - Garmin 324, M5 253, steps - - - Garmin 8,340, M5 7743. I consider the Garmin 245 as the gold standard since I have tested against other much more expensive running and GPS enhanced devices and found its accuracy to be < 2% in error.

Wow, excellent data. Thanks so much. Out of curiosity, are you able to input your individual running and walking stride lengths in the Garmin? I presume the distance computed by both was from GPS as the distance is further with the M5 yet it recorded fewer steps.

@@SWT After running or biking or any other action, I attach my Garmin 245 to my computer via the charging strap. From there the software in the 245 communicates with the "Garmin Connect" web site and downloads all the new data. The download consists of perhaps 25 metrics some of which are "computed" including a MUCH more detailed map of the action (a run in my case) and VO2 Max. And yes, I used the GPS mode on both watches. If you are interested in what metrics are downloaded from the Garmin 245, I could send photos via e-mail if I knew where to send it.
