This song had attained cult status all over the south thanks to the Maestro Illayaraja' s mesmerising music. However in the song details, there is only mention of Suresh wadkar and no credit given to the song's creator - Maestro Illayaraja. Really sad. This was the very same song which made the bollywood greats including Panchamda, Laxmikant Pyarelal and Kalyanji Anandji sit up and take note of this out of the world music. In fact till then a song of this style had never been composed in Bollywood. Seeing the comments, one thing is very clear the North South divide is still wide and even music has not been able to bridge it. The greatest music director of our times whose music has been ripped lock stock and barrel by likes of Anand Milind and Anu malik and of whom even the great Panchamda was a big fan, is still a stranger to the North Indian public. Wonder why is it because of the name or his simple down to earth style. While his student AR Rehman is a big name in India (thanks to his name which is common in the north and his western attire and PR team) the man who taught him all the tricks of the trade remains unknown, thanks to the ignorance of bollywood listeners. No wonder BBC said Illayaraja is the best kept secret of India. But to the billions of his fans across the globe he is god of music. Hope next time the listeners give importance not only to Suresh Walker but to the man who composed this great song - illayaraja as well.

U should be aware that Suresh Wadkar himself mentions in most of his performances and interviews that he considers Illayraja Sir as one of the greatest composers. Stop comparing....if Illayraja Sir is great (which I do admit), many other composers are also very good. Same is with Singers...Suresh Wadkarji is very good , melodious...but there are many ...Rafi Saab, Manna Dey, Yesudas, SPB, Bhimsen Joshi....
