Many years ago, before we ever met, my wife was at maybe the lowest point in her life and ended up in a homeless shelter near Denver, Colorado. As it happened Ann B. Davis was a volunteer at that shelter and spoke with my future wife several times giving her great encouragement along the way. That encouragement really went a long way in helping my wife be able to turn her life around to turn into the wonderful person she is today. we owe a great deal to Ms. Davis and always will...Rest in Eternal Peace Ann B. A great fun and articulate lady. I attended a regional Christian youth conference in the late ‘70’s and she was the guest speaker. She had a heart and appreciation for teens. I remember walking by her and was two shy to say anything and we just smiled. Another thing that stood out to me was how tiny she was. She had to have been under 5-foot-tall as she came up to my shoulders. I was (still am) 5-foot 4-inches. That means Florence and Maureen were/are both tiny as well as they seem to be the same height as Ann.

That was an extremely awkward interview, with no chemistry between Conan and Ann. He could have done a better job at molding his tone to fit hers like Johnny Carson used to do. Usually Conan does a good job, but this wasn't one of his best. I loved Ann B. Davis, and I felt like this interview didn't bring out the best in her. I wish I could have interviewed her before she passed. Her passing was so sad too, because she was in her 80s but very healthy; she just happened to slip and fall in her bathroom and died of brain swelling the next day. Such a shame.

@Jim Bracca~That's how the "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" was in the early days of his show... A guest would come out, and he would make comedic small talk with them for fifteen minutes, and then it was all over.... I really like his recent format of Conan "With Out Borders", where he travels to different countries and interacts with the people, and goes native....some of which don't even understand what's happening or what he's saying... so there's a communication breakdown there at times, but it all comes together in the end... This has really refreshed that stale format that we all know as, "The Talk Show"....

Ann always said that she could have done The Brady Bunch for several more years, and hoped that the producers and writers could have worked out some scenario that would keep the now older kids in the cast. At that time, however, most everyone, especially Robert Reed and Florence Henderson, wanted out.
@EastSide-qc5oy2 жыл бұрын
When I was a kid I tended to prefer the later seasons, seeing the kids get older and more “groovy” with their hair growing longer and their wardrobe becoming more colorful and hip for the times, as Sherwood Schwartz gave in to the kids requests to let them dress less classic like they were from an earlier era. I always thought they could have gotten some mileage out of Greg heading off to college nearby and plots based around his campus life, maybe living in the dorms but coming back home often, or living at home but having campus adventures. Marcia is a senior and wondering what to do with her future, applying to colleges while dealing with senior homecoming and prom stuff. The younger siblings are growing up and dealing with high school and middle school etc. Carol gets a part-time job. Maybe they take in a foreign exchange student. There’s plenty they could have done if the writers were up to it. Clearly I’ve thought about this too much!
