I remember Conan (or some host) asking Eve if she ever got together socially with the other Brady kids. When Eve said no, there was a chorus of disappointed groans from the audience and Eve asked "do you still see the people you went to high school with?" I liked that answer.

Eve Plumb is an enigma to me. She seems to really have a disdain for the Brady Bunch and yet in the HGTV shows in 2019, she started off as coolish and not wanting to have much to say about the Brady Bunch, and yet she had saved quite a bit of paraphernalia from the BB and she softened up and cried (finally) when the BB gang was gathered around the dining room table, talking about Florence and Robert. I wonder why she comes across as aloof. I think she has a lot of hurt underneath her tough exterior.
@doncrocker8564
@doncrocker8564 Жыл бұрын
To her credit, she's had the least amount of personal drama post show. I think her disdain is more in that she wants to be remembered for her talent besides playing a character. When she talks of her art, a different persona comes through. It was said that post show, Florence Henderson remained a mother figure to them all despite having children of her own. While it came out that Robert Reed died of Aids, he was a protective father figure and also had a daughter around the age of the two real life actors, Eve and Christopher Knight. Other young sitcom actors have also been known to speak fondly of their sitcom "parents". For sure, she's a survivor.

As a child of the 1970's I watched Brady Bunch a lot.Though Greg and Marsha were the oldest and most interesting, I always had a soft spot for Jan. She seemed so unappreciated, and tried so hard. Then she had got bad allergies and had a handicap in the form of glasses. Non e of the others had those problems. Jan was the one I wanted to hang around with, and get to know.

Yes, I totally noticed that. She was there to plug her movie and he kept steering away from the subject. It's pretty well known that Eve prefers non-Brady conversation, but he kept going back to it. Maybe he thought that was all the audience wanted, but you could tell his execution was making her question if being there was a good idea. And once your guest is uncomfortable, the audience becomes uncomfortable.

It was clear she didn't feel comfortable discussing the Brady Bunch as it is in all interviews which clearly, none of these fools doing the interview could pick up on that body language and move to other topics. Should have asked her about projects she did before the Brady Bunch, ask her about working on Gun Smoke and those she met on the set. When discussing the Brady Bunch, ask questions nobody else asks like how was it working with Melissa Sue Anderson who played Mary on Little House on the Prairie when she was in an episode. Ask Eve if she ever met any other famous child actors from that period of time. Its obvious towards the end of the interview when he asks Eve about her recent projects, she lightens up quite a bit and shows interest in doing the interview...sadly it was cut short just as he was getting into relevant topics instead of covering questions dozens of others have already asked.

Marcia was the Hot Hot Brady girl of course.. And I always thought that Jan might have been kind of the ugly duckling girl on the show (and they kind of portrayed her that way, and played that up). But people don't really remember that by season 5 (the final season 1974) of the show, Jan started to completely change, and grow up and got real real pretty. And I thought she had gotten as fine and beautiful as Marcia, though in a different way. But on TV now a days they never seem to show THAT season. Always the early seasons., Check it out. Get The DVD's.....The Complete Season 5.... Marcia Marcia Marcia???----Jan Jan Jan!!!.... P.S. I was 16 yrs old in 1974, and I was never a real big Brady Bunch fan (I liked The Partridge Family better) But.....Anyway.....Funny Stuff.
