When I was in junior high, my friends and I were so movie struck we could hardly wait for the movie mags to hit the stands. My favorite actress was Ann Blyth. I had every photo and magazine she was in and went to see every movie when it came out. Ann Blyth and I share a birth date--August 16, though I'm about 10 years younger. I still enjoy hearing any news about her and will watch her movies when I see anything showing on TV. So many excellent ones--especially, "Mildred Pierce."

The last time I saw Mildred Peirce I couldn't believe I was on the remote island of St. John ,where one goes to be completely alone and reflect on one's mistakes and future. I couldn't believe I was laying in a hammock looking at the turquoise water on a flat screen TV was playing. MILDRED PEIRCE , on this hidden oasis . Thank you for allowing us to comment.
