Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I'm a boy of the 80s, so this song is a crucial part of my childhood. I am a huge fan of Heart all around - 70s, 80s, 90s, etc. - but these songs hold a special place in my heart (no pun intended). I don't generally enjoy "slowed-down" versions of popular rock songs, but this is beautiful. I saw Heart in 2010 and it has gone down as one of THE best live shows I've ever seen.

Ann Wilson has remarkable vocal range, and the way she's able to texturize in the higher register is astounding. It should be noted that this was originally recorded by Holly Woods and Toronto a few years earlier but never released. There is a youtube posting of the unmastered recording for the curious. Loved Holly and the band back in the day and saw them many times. Heart was a favorite, never saw them, but bought many of their albums, as well.

Love the original aingle apart from the last minute or so when it goes off the boil in my eyes , instead of the anthemic ending it just fizzles away bit this version with Ann's raspy vocals and the bluey's ending is just fantastic in my ears anyway.

Damn, even her speaking voice is sexy. My only disappointment with this rather excellent version is that Ann didn't reach for that incredible "Looooooove, what about, what about loooooove" line near the end. The studio version puts a shiver up my spine every time I hear it.

Good emotional version of this song, and a nice twist to cite Beach Boys in the intro. Technically , I've heard Ann do it a little bit better, there's a few notes she doesn't quite hit here, But it doesn't matter much. That it's a catchy tune, as Ann states in the interview, is correct, and also proven by the fact that my fellow Swedes in Roxette stole big chunks of it of it for their song Listen to Your Heart a couple of years later, that also became a huge hit.

Last night I had a bizarre dream that I was browsing a public library and suddenly Ann Wilson walked up to me out of nowhere and handed me a book that she claimed to write...about Egyptian Alchemy and Magic! ....and I took it and sat down and leafed through it. Her name was on the cover. There was an appendix with structural chemical formulas and runes and glyphs. My mind was blown! Then I realized I hadnt even taken one second to talk to her or recognize her greatness or shake her hand or anything and started to feel kind of guilty. I'm a musician myself, but I rarely if ever have dreams about rock stars or musicians at all. This was somehow very significant since I kind of liike Heart alot but dont really listen to them much.
