Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart would have been appreciative of the way you play his magnificent music so beautifully, Anna Fedorova.

2nd movement made me cry so hard. I'm a huge fan of Bach but always frustrated that many people don't realize the true beauty of Mozart, saying Mozart invented nothing new, not as deep as Bach, too light, too simple, etc etc...OK, but How can you ignore this magic? I cried like a baby missing a mother. Thank you for playing K333, my favorite piece. I don't want to compare with anybody because tears are the most strong words.

The way I see it, the "Too Simple" is what makes Mozart so genius imo. He takes all of these complex musical theories that might sound like another language if you were to explain it to a non-musician, yet he's able to make use of them in a way that turns these complicated concepts into beautiful sounds that anyone can listen, enjoy and understand when in reality the piece isn't simple at all. I find Bach beautiful in a way I might look at his pieces like a large beautiful construction or artwork, but to me Mozart just sounds right for the heart, and the simplicity/lightness/elegance feels so human.

@@mlh9309 I love Mozart when he was free of the great influence of Bach. Bach inspired him to write some contrapuntal works, but I feel like it distorted his original nature. Two geniuses can't really mix.

Bravissima Anna ! Molto brava 🌹🌹🌹

I don't know why, but to me, Mozart's piano sonatas played by ladies sound more gentle and graceful...
@markokojo185812 күн бұрын
I know. Great women pianists are a lot more emotional and when it requires force, it is not too much but just the right amount. This applies to all composers I've been listening to. E.g. Appassionata by Beethoven or Hungarian Rhapsody no.2 by Liszt to name some. My favourite women pianists are e.g. Anna Fedorova, Khatia Buniatishvili, Anastasia Huppman, Yuja Wang.

I love Mozart piano sonatas. KV. 333 is a nice one and her interpretation is something new, more baroque style? This Yamaha has a nice soft-crisp sound that maybe she adjusted her way of playing it to the piano.

She plays with more emotion then any modern pianist I have heard. In addition, she seems to understand timing and tempo and intensity that IMHO was how the music was originally intended to be played, but that is conjecture. Bravo nevertheless
@barryisland59423 жыл бұрын
Agreed. She is amazingly emotional. No one plays Rachmaninoff more emotionally than Anna. There are some brilliant pianists around these days, but Anna is my favourite. Not only is she so very talented, but she also has such an endearing personality. The world is just that little bit better with Anna in it.

Articulate full of character wonderful textures and dynamic intensities ! She makes insightful choices that tell us more about this music than I've ever seen on the page . Her(5:33 slow mov. here is a revelation ! The repeated chords each one weighted differently I enjoyed this more than at least 8 or 9 more famous pianists If Ingrid Haebler, Uchida,Barenboim ,Brendel ,Lily Krauss are your pianists in Mozart -she, Fedorova gives us an intensely personal , human , comical and thoughtful Mozart . I want to hear her in Schubert now ! I have been listening to the old school Russian Pianists Yudina,Gilels ,Pletnev . Avoid their distortions and pianistic whimsy -Yudina sounds so unmusical in rondo and FMajor k.533 Sonata it makes you wonder what duress she might have been under that day! I think she played in Miami a month ago . Now I know I missed something I would not forgotten . This is not a fussy Mozart because her details speak out immediately to the listener with a heart . Now I must hear her Chopin Ballades ,scherzi and etudes& mazurkas !

I can't believe some of the ridiculous comments on this video. The way in which some of the commenters expressed their accolades in such an embarrassingly over-the-top manner is absolutely hilarious to me. "Oh, how I cried like a baby whose mother had been hit by a bus! The tears I have shed and which have stained my pillow with their salty texture have traumatized me in a miraculous manner and will forever stand as a testimony that this supernal performance didst fleetingly touch my life, which shall never be the same from this day hence!" Give me a serious break, seriously. Now don't get me wrong. Fedorova's playing and artistic interpretation are wonderful on this Mozart sonata, and her performance does deserve high praise. It is at once both sensitive and energetic, spontaneous and reliable, and definitely pleasurable listening. However, I would mitigate my compliments with a few critical comments. She got a little carried away at some brief points, such as the cadence leading into the B-flat major chord at 3:55. That part felt too rough and tumble. A few camera close-ups reveal that her right fifth finger frequently curls up with too much tension. This tendency may have led her to make some rare note accuracy errors, such as at 3:47 and 5:07. At the same time, I don't understand some of the critical comments left by previous commenters. Someone said Fedorova's left hand is boring, but I hear no reason to make such an accusation. Her left-hand playing sounds just fine to me. This performance is one about which she should be proud, and we should enjoy it. The most surprising decision of Fedorova's is her omission of all repeats. The first movement has two repeats, and everything I've ever read and studied about this era's music is that such repeats are required. No repeats, Anna? How come?
@prabhudhasivanson7110 Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your positive and (some) negative comments about this performance by Anna Fedorova, but I have to correct you in that the fifth finger doesn't curl up with too much tension - it is just a normal physiological occurrence.
@dankubus365711 ай бұрын
@@prabhudhasivanson7110 Negative. The curling of the fifth finger is a tell-tale sign of excess tension, and the curling can be reduced and virtually eliminated to great effect. I know this because both my fifth fingers curled tightly when I was about 11-13 years old, but with more years of training I have been able to almost entirely eliminate the tendency.
