My great great grandma on my mom's side was named Polly Fivekiller. She was Cherokee from Oklahoma.

My late Mother ,Buelah Marie can speak some. she looked like Natalie Wood. She told me that the language is not heard too much anymore because of english. She wanted me to learn and to teach my kids. She was a very proud Cherokee/Shoshone woman. Miss you mom.

I knew some mankillers. On the res. Along time ago. Never really learned the language. It was lost to me at the age of 6 years old. But I'm glad that the young ones are learning it,,,

I am learning. Hard to hear and interpret words that my ears are not use to hearing so fast. I definitely want to participate. I am thrilled to see you doing this. Wado.

Yes, all natives, no matter where they originated from, should cherish their ancestors’ tongue and customs. I wish I had that opportunity, even though I’m referred to as a ‘Heinz 57’.

It is just not enough to know some phrases in Cherokee though at my age I still fear ridicule. I am sure many feel the same way.

For teaching purpose, if they slowed down and this was also in the phonetic and or in the Cherokee syllable(s)-it would be learnable to me. Just to fast for me right now!!!! If it were in the phonetic and syllable(s) and in the order of their words and sentences ,it would work ,otherwise ,in English, it's a linguistic conundrum .
