Anna Tivel is the greatest songwriter on the planet. NOBODY can tell a story so descriptive in only 4 minutes, like Anna. I am amazed by her poetic lyrics.

@@theycallhimding Trying to think of anyone who could challenge her for that title. Ok, I can think of a few who could challenge, but none who would win. Yep, greatest songwriter on the planet.

I love Anna’s music so, so much! The first song of hers I heard was “Dust and Magic,” and it left me in tears. Next I listened to “Dark Chandelier,” and that one was a real doozy in the way it affected me emotionally. I am continuously moved by her treatment of the human subjects in her songs. She shows them compassion and gives them dignity, especially encouraging us to not forget about the people that tend to get forgotten in this world. The way she expresses the human condition is so heart-breakingly accurate, and listening to her music is a very meaningful experience for me every time I listen! I wish she’d come to Texas! Beautiful performance here 😊

I just found Anna Tivel tonight while reading NPR's Heavy Rotation list. I am also from Portland so she stood out from the rest to me. I love her sound, her lyrics and presentation. I will be listening for her in the future.

So great to just get inside of your story - so rich in imagery, feeling, color and meaning - luster is a great word, like a warm glow on a rainy Portland day, rich in dimension and yet just a universal story that we can all relate to - thank you so very much, I adore your music - saw you recently at the Crystal Ball Room Folk Festival - the much awaited last performer of 6 hours of music - worth every second - thank you again

Only the beauty of your words can surpass the sweetness of your voice. The images you create shine in my head chasing all the shadows of my mind.André Sorry for my poor English writting.

@@shnootch I just heard this in 2022. I might get that comment. There was a decade when I would've fell in love with her and Jeffery's music, very emotional in a safe way, like songwriter summer camp to public radio darlings. Americana, a genre from a nonexistent time and place that leaves out everything in between.
