Everything said on EGO I wrote down word for word in a notebook. Just mind-blowing and I’ve been in a recovery program for 3 years and we always mention ego but nobody has said anything this insightful. And so many people in the meetings give a look when they know you absorb yourself with too much non approved material that wasn’t written by our peeps. And I’m like sorry I don’t just have substance problems. I have mental health & apparently loads of other things. I am always like oh I saw this great TedTalk and they are like 😒 Whatever if it kept me sober that day I count it as a win!

Unresolved trauma will negatively manifest itself in every aspect of your adult life if you don't make a conscious effort to change the trajectory of your life. We all have the agency to change our lives for the better, but sometimes it's a matter of first recognizing that we have a problem that needs fixing. From there, we have to identify the necessary action steps to create lasting and positive change. It's never easy "parenting yourself" but it's a worthwhile effort if it means being able to create meaningful adult connections and living a life you're proud of. -Emma

Maybe we’re a mess because we’re facing the results of record high inflation, a lack of community caused by bad housing infrastructure and social media, or the fact that living is so hard and the easiest ways we can self-sooth is said social media, drinking, and binge watching Netflix. Idk though, I just guessing.
