I'm about ready to decide that most hydrangeas will flop, at least to some degree!

I love quick fire, firelight, and vanilla strawberry. I have a huge annabelle, pinky winky, endless summer, limelight,little lime invincible blush, wee white, candy apple, moonshrook summer sweet, let dance rav, bobo and flame. I just love hydrangas if u couldnt tell. Lol. My annabelle flops all the time so now i stake them and they do great
@ieeshamroczek65833 жыл бұрын
Thank again for your videos. Also what nurseries do is cut back the hydranga a little bit b4 it blooms so it blooms later but it won't burn in the sun or brown up because of humidity.

Seems like a good idea.

Staking them seems like a common solution. I've never tried though.

Thank you for the information. I’am obsessed with Annabelle,Piniculata & oak leaf hydrangeas. Unfortunately they are not popular and not readily available here in Australia only a few mail order nurseries sell them. I’ve planted my first hydrangeas last spring so this is my second year and the buds are starting to swell…spring starts next week here down under.😊

We have tried to transplant some we got from a family member and only about half made it. 🤷🏼♀️ Hopefully the others will keep growing.

I would've thought the constant watering from your condensation line would attribute to their strength. I have elephant ears at my hvac and they bloom every year due to the water they get.

I love Annabelle and all Paniculata varieties. A question, do you use single node hardwood cuttings for all your hydrangea varieties.
@savvydirtfarmer3 жыл бұрын
Single node hardwood or single node softwood under mist.
@Williamleebowman3 жыл бұрын
@@savvydirtfarmer thank you, i had always used multi node but am going to use single node for my Hardwood cuttings this winter.

How much do you think you will try and sell them for next year? Will you plan sale so that they are blooming at sale?
@savvydirtfarmer3 жыл бұрын
Good question. Will have to wait and see how they look. I'm thinking $15.
@savvydirtfarmer3 жыл бұрын
They will be blooming or at least heavily budding.

I have a lot of the michanthus grass that i divided, I probably have over 30 ornamental grasses. Most of them flopped on me late summer. Had to cut them to the ground and glyphosated them when they started growing again. Will never ever plant this type of grass again. lesson learned lol
@savvydirtfarmer3 жыл бұрын
Yep. Those grasses can be a mess!

I'm curious how you know if a variety is patented or not. Is there a problem propagating patented varieties?
@savvydirtfarmer3 жыл бұрын
Any plant you buy from a credible source will have a label indicating so if a patent is in place.
@stephencalouro66763 жыл бұрын
where do you order your plants from
@savvydirtfarmer3 жыл бұрын
Try to propagate as many as we can ourselves. We do order a few in though... just do google searches for wholesale plants you're looking for. There are too many to list here.
