This app has really helped me. I'm so easily distracted but I have been studying in good solid chunks of time for a few days. I mainly use my computer for school work so I decided that since the app can't tell what I'm doing on the computer that I will remind myself of the app when I notice im getting distracted and that if I don't get back to work I will HAVE to wither my tree. It works actually and I haven't had one tree wither so far.

Great stuff as always, it seems more and more common to be glued to your phone and finding things you need to do get put to the wayside. I can see this app definitely helping out in that regard and the fact you can plant trees in real life definitely adds that element of you not only doing these tasks for yourself but also the environment. I've already started downloading this app and we'll see how well this will curb my smartphone addiction ;)

In IOS its allowing to open other apps after planting trees. In Android it blocks all other apps completely after planting trees. This difference is correct?

nope, that is for u to listen to some forest sounds, if you need something to listen to if you or bored or for other reasons.

The tree will continue to wither if you keep on reclosing, and opening the Forest app. Instead do your work on paper either on tablet. Don't make things so difficult and do what works best for you. The point of this by keeping yourself from being distracted all the time.

Excuse me for sending this too late. You need to pay attention to your phone's settings because the settings for enabling, and disabling notifications allows the app to get incoming or no notifications. As form of closure, that's because you didn't enable the notification by getting incoming notifications from the Forest app. Pay attention to your phone settings.

this is late but if u close the app, you wouldn't receive any notification but when you open an app... for example, Netflix. Forest will immediately notif you and force you to go back to the app.
