Japan is so serene, calm and beautiful even in the green corners of the city. Getting into deep nature and true countryside is just intoxicatingly beautiful. This video captures it all.
Anna, you treat my longing. There is something strange between me and Japan. Every time I see the scenery of Japan, I feel like I miss my grandmother's house. I felt it since I was little, when my father played NHK world TV, I missed it. There are many beautiful and exotic things out there such as the Swiss Alps, the expanse of the Sahara desert, the environment with classic European culture, but I just think it's so beautiful it's not as special as Japan. One day I want to go to Japan

You know all my favourite places in Japan. I once rode here on my scooter from Kyoto, in September, through the night, with a typhoon following me. I took brief shelter at a jinja by the northern coast at dawn, as my eyes were failing me (rain and fog on visors and glasses tire the eyes quickly, especially at night on light-less mountain roads). I was nursed back to health with kindness by the custodian of the shrine, with coffee, instant udon, a muffin, and a tangerine orange, with the ocean in my view. I pressed further, and made it to Eiheiji temple in Fukui, 'Temple of Eternal Peace,' before noon. At noon, exactly, the mantra of the practitioners in the main hall, and their soothing tone, and the ringing of an ancient bell, flooded me in tears, as rain continued. I guess this is what they call "catharsis"? I continued, pressed toward Takayama, stopping to wash my clothes at a laundromat on the way. Although this gave some temporary comfort I was immediately soaked again, arriving at a ryokan in Takayama just within check-in time, around 10pm, which received me graciously even though I must have appeared like a homeless man in the rain. The next morning the sky was clear, a perfect blue. And that is how I made it to Kamikochi, where I forgot time, and even missed the last bus back.. so mesmerized I was at this very sight of the valley you presented above. Luckily there was one taxi left, and just enough cash in my wallet to make it back to my scooter in the southern town. I made a promise to myself that the next time I go there I will camp overnight, and to make it across the summits. Please continue with these videos. I learn a lot from them! Especially about the hidden gems. By the way, I bought that Shakuhachi I mentioned the other day! And I played my Koto last night.
@annafilmproduction11434 жыл бұрын
Thank you for telling me a good story again😊 I'm glad you bought the shakuhachi😄
I went there a long long time ago, almost 50 years ago! It was a time that very few people went there, so it was very quiet (looks like it is getting more crowded now with more hotels). The color and the purity of the river water was so amazing, and mountains surrounding this place are also beautiful. Top most beautiful place in Japan.....

If I were only to use one word to describe this video, it would be "haunting". Seeing as I am not a man of few words, I can add "lovely" and "amazing" to that list but they are inadequate to convey the emotions this video places in me. I especially like the mists rolling down from the peaks into the watershed which reminds me of the time I visited Honshu, zooming towards Osaka on the Shinkansen. The bridge is also exceptional. Your work is all that and more. I love the excellent music and the ambient noises in the background. Thank you Anna!

Where does one even begin to express the beauty of this little "walk in the woods". Gentle hiking paths, elevated in the back water marshes. Gentle creeks to swift water rivers and the softness of footsteps... (yours... or mine?) Picnic table along the river...and people! This is so unusual, and so perfect. Valleys of ice in the distant mountains, the watershed bringing it down to us. This is one of, if not the best video you've presented to us.... well, until the next one. And a perfect ending, absolutely perfect. Arigatou my dear friend... be well, stay safe.
