I love how everyone I’ve heard this song sing has a different aura while doing it. Stella herself sounds innocent and sweet, like a little girl who reveals herself to the hero while dancing on corpses. Justine is more bombastic, like a Disney villain or a final boss who finally gets the chance to gloat. And Anna sounds more in between, perhaps like just revealing herself as a traitor to the hero, and then dodging their rage fueled attacks as she points out the flaws in their logic.

Man this song SLAPS!!! I love the image of the betrayer side-character suddenly cornering the heros and monologuing as she teases them one by one, whispering in their ears and making them REALLY question if what they’ve been striving for all this time is even attainable and “good” as they’ve been chasing a villain this whole time. They’ve confided in this woman, told her their plans, laughed with her, cried to her, and she knows ALL of it. Now she’s going to take advantage of all the ammo they’ve graciously given her and pay it back in kind. By driving them mad with their greatest doubts, separating them, and then picking them off one by one.

These lyrics are amazing! I actually really love the freedom taken -- I think the fact that they weren't direct translations actually really allowed them to express the theme so well. The lyrics were really good at conveying the tone, the message, and the overall experience of the song to English speakers. Definitely my favourite English cover of Villain!!

Wow, how have I never found this song before, well doesn’t matter because I wouldn’t want my first exposure to it to be from anybody else. Absolutely fantastic work on this Anna, you have such a gift that I am proud to share. Seeing these songs gives me confidence to put myself out there and use my gift in singing. May not have the courage to sing for large groups, but I can at least do it for some people when I used to be incredibly shy about singing.
