Really enjoyed the video. Some of those corrugations look brutal. We are blessed to live in this beautiful country. Would like to do this trip myself one day. Thankyou for sharing.

Geez mate, that was 15 years ago ... Primus Companion I think. Mind you, I reckon they were probably all made by the same company and self branded ... It eventually died, and I'm not sure what I have now. Haven't used it for a few years. Thanks for dropping by. Cheers, Laurie.

Wow, that was 2008. I remember we started with full tanks at Kalgoorlie, put a jerrycan in after the plane, and topped up at Ilkurlka. So started with 145 litres in the tank and 20 litres in the jerrycan used. I can't remember how much went in at Ilkurlka ... probably around 110 litres which got us to Coober Pedy easily ... I think LOL.

Awesome video! Very informative, thanks! Just wondering how much total fuel do you think you used? And how much fuel did you need to add at the " roadhouse " during the trip?

Hi Dan. As I mentioned I think in an earlier comment ... that was back in 2008, and I don't think I kept the same records that I do now. I remember we started with full tanks at Kalgoorlie, put a jerrycan in after the plane, and topped up at Ilkurlka. So started with 145 litres in the tank and 20 litres in the jerrycan used. Holy shit, man, for 2008 this is a masterpiece. Back in 09, I was 1 camera, 1 angle, struggling with audio and lighting. Even though it was still digital back then, you made something that looks like it was released only a few years ago! Holy crap! I am like, beyond impressed! -from Warburton, WA p.s. Our main vehicle is still a 2006 105 series landcruiser which I think I recognise from your video?

Thanks Michael. Mine is a 1999 105, close on 600K, new engine at 546K, and still going strong. I was just using a Sony camcorder hand held, and I can't remember what my son was using, but I filmed with an eye to trying to do it without using the camera like a fly swat, and the rest was done in the editing program. I can't remember what I used for this edit. I think probably Premiere Pro. I use Da Vinci Resolve these days. It's amazing what tools they have to clean up shitty camera work 😂. Cheers, Laurie

Are you any relation to Nick Kibblewhite, I used to work with him back in the day. Steve Bull
@lauriekibblewhite2 жыл бұрын
If that is Nick from Kojonup, I believe we are related, altho distantly. His family moved from NZ in the 60's (I think it was). My mob arrived from UK in 1928 or thereabouts. So we claim the country LOL.

@@lauriekibblewhite that sounds like him, he was in Perth when I worked with him mid 1980's at a mine in meekathara.

It's not often that blatant stupidity comes so readilly to the fore. Your first instinct is to rip open insect nests however it's against the law so I won't, oh the shrubs are off the road edge so you can tell the roads used regularly...what about the significant wheel tracks on the track? Thanks for the i sight 4wd hero. All you did was drive down a sedate track!!! Boring!!a
