Fantasy. Elizabeth did her level best to disassociate from her unpopular mother who many still considered a whore and never Henry's lawful wife. Elizabeth needed to reinforce her claim to the throne by stressing her connection to Henry VIII. Boleyn had very little power and no backing which is why Henry did not bother to divorce her when he decided to marry Seymour. Catherine of Aragon had all of Spain, the Catholic church, and the British subjects on her side.

I'd say out of all of Henry's wives, Anne Boleyn definitely got the last laugh. Her daughter Elizabeth was the least loved of Henry's kids, yet she went on to become one of the most famous ruling monarchs in the history of the world. And to top it off, she willingly decided to never have kids, cause she didn't want anyone else to go through the same shit she went through as a kid, and inadvertently put an end to Henry's line forever. If that ain't karmic justice, I don't know what is.

Actually, the reason that she never had children was more to protect herself than anything else. She saw how men treated women at the time, and she didn’t want to give her power away to a man. She saw how her father treated his wives, how her aunt’s husbands treated them, how Mary, Queen of Scot’s husbands treated her, how her stepmother Catherine Parr’s husband treated her. Elizabeth knew all too well the dangers of letting love, or maternal instincts get in the way of her power and need to survive. She had survived intense danger, been raised up and down and then up again her whole life. She had seen men and women lose their lives in horrific ways, in attempts to stand up for their religions and loved ones. She had almost lost her own life herself multiple times. She knew the dangers of the day, and she knew the dangers that being married to a man brought to a woman. Wealthy women were better off alone. She was better off retaining her power for herself, than giving it to a man who could beat her, tire of her, behead her, divorce her, cheat on her, or do all the other things that men had done to all the other women in her family - even the ones whose marriages had started off as love matches. Elizabeth learned from the mistakes of others, and she wasn’t about to make the same ones. Not for any man. And not for the sake of having children. Mary had already managed to show the country that it was possible to have a female queen, and had broken that hurdle for her. So now that Elizabeth finally had the power she had waited all of her life for, she wasn’t about to give it up just for the sake of love, marriage, or children - no matter how pressured she was to do so. She didn’t choose not to have children because she didn’t want them to go through what she went through. She chose not to have them to protect herself from the danger of giving up her power to a man. And for all she knew she might not even have been able to have them (or her husband might not have, but people always thought it was the woman’s fault back then). She would have been blamed and ostracised if such a situation occurred. It was better for her to remain single and in control, especially after all that she had seen and been through.

The irony that Henry VIII so desperately wanted a male heir to rule his country but the greatest monarch of all time turned out to be his daughter, birthed by the one he had accused of witchery and incest and brought up by the one that tried to reconciliate them. It was like Parr getting revenge for herself after being forced in her marriage, Boleyn and Elizabeth all in one. I know they would've been friends

To be honest, I think Anna and Mary’s legacy is tarnished and it shouldn’t be. They did the best they could with what they had and then they were punished for being to good at it. Also not my own words. It’s a shame that Henry didn’t live long enough to see Anne’s revenge. She gave him what he asked for. Maybe not in the form of a son, but he still got an heir, who went on to become one of the greatest monarchs in British history. He was lucky enough to get even that.

He asked a heir to keep Tudor house on throne. This wish had nothing to do with a dick or vagina, but the simple and still nowadays valid rule:the child (future ruler) gets his/her name after the father. A daughter could not accomplish it,and we can see Elizabeth was the last Tudor Queen. So Anne did not get any revenge, she could not give Henry a son,she got changed for a new wife just as Katherine of Aragon, which also did not help a lot on longer term,Edward died without any heir, just as Mary and Elizabeth.

I truly love Anne Boleyn. Her bravery even in the face of death has earned my respect. Also for the record, she never did any of the stuff she was accused of doing. Her influence continues to last hundreds of years after her death and her story still remains. While the stories of many British monarch, regent or consort, have faded away, Anne's story remained. She gave Henry VIII what he wanted, a great ruler. And yet he complains because it's a girl! You know how karma will always come back to bite you in the butt? Well for Henry VIII, karma really did a number on him. His own daughter, Elizabeth I, ended the Tudor bloodline as a result while reigning for about 45 years and remaining a virgin for her whole life. Best revenge ever!

One of the things that always stuck with me the most was the loyalty Anne inspired in the women around her who loved her. Anne was refused a proper grave or burials and her body was left out by Henry’s orders. So her ladies-in-waiting, a group of young women who had never done hard labour or physical work in their lives, guarded her body and dug the grave for her themself, and grave digging is a EXTREMELY physically laborious task.

Henry VIII was a fool to have hankered for a son. There were remarkable women in England 's history who would have been fantastic queens but for the time they were born in. Eleanor is one who comes to mind.

Apparently you are not aware that Great Britain had more than one Queen Anne. Boleyn was not around long enough to make a mark.

Yes. In real life Elizabeth is Anne’s daughter and Anne was done so horribly that her one act of revenge against her husband who wronged her is that her child would be one of the greatest rulers their nation ever saw
