In “The Idea of You,” Anne Hathaway plays a 40-year-old divorced mom who finds love with a 24-year-old boy band singer played by Nicholas Galitzine. Anne and Nicholas chatted with “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi about the movie, which shows off Nicholas’ impressive singing talents! Would he ever take the act on tour? Anne also shuts down speculation that the story was inspired by Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde’s romance. “The Idea of You” is on Prime Video May 2.

It's not focused on her being old, simply her love interest being younger, which typically isn't the case and is more taboo in our society. The main idea is the double standards behind women having younger men as their partner as apposed to men having younger women.

I think this was an interesting movie. I like how it wasn't "cougar" themed but talked about the theme of how older women can get heat for dating younger and that you can fall for someone younger. I had met a guy in soccer and he was 9 years younger. I was 34 and he was 25. At the time, we weren't sure if we should be more than friends. I remember it being difficult to not feel judged like i was going for someone younger and got the cougar comments and felt out of place going to his college friends party when people were 22 and i was 36. So, the take away is when you care about someone you may need to let the cruel comments roll off your back because sometimes love goes beyond age. ❤
