I made this recipe and it sold out as soon as it was cured. Lychee Red Tea is such a sweet, fruity, lovely scent. I don't know how the white part was so fluid for Anne Marie lol. This soap thickens fast but it spreads smoothly with a spoon. I had no problems at all creating the intended design. Great recipe

Whenever you change oils, always run your recipe through our lye calculator to make sure your recipe is safe! @bramble-berry3 жыл бұрын
The 54 oz. Quick Mix will usually work with 7.8 oz. lye and 17 oz. distilled water (this works great in our 5 lb. silicone mold) , but we always recommend running your recipe through the Bramble Berry Lye Calculator to make sure you have the correct levels of lye. Hi, it sounds like you've made a thick trace! Once it's thick, you can't thin it out. While it can be harder to work with in some ways, thick trace is still totally useable. I really loved that recipe and decided to try it. I only did not have mango butter at home but I used shea instead. And I did not feel comfortable with 12% water discount so I runed everything through the soapcalk with 30%. Everything was great until I combined both mixtures. At the moment I added my lye water into the oils (at 35 degrees Celsius) the mixture immediately got very thik and I barely used the mixer. 😔 I guess I am gonna have to throw everything in the garbage but I really don't know what I messed up... and I feel so disappointed because I was looking forward to make that summer soap 😔
@bramble-berry Жыл бұрын
That is very interesting as your temperatures seem correct. When soap thickens so quickly you normally see that happen due to too low of temperatures or too much lye. When she says "12% water discount", does that mean the recipe, which states 16 oz of distilled water, already have that calculated in, or do you still have to still calculate that 12%? So it would 14.08 oz of distilled water?
@bramble-berry3 жыл бұрын
The 16 ounces of distilled water is already calculated in as the 12% water discount, you don't need to discount another 12% when you make this.

I made some soap and a few days later the color disappeared. What am I doing wrong?
@cassierobinson22734 жыл бұрын
Some colorants will not hold up in cold process soap. You need to double check your color or mica to ensure it is able to be used in cold process. Most sites will tell you in the description or info if it is able to be used in cold process. You are likely using one that isn't cold process compatible and it is being destroyed by the lye in the raw soap.

@Strange Watch it's not about shipping the cost no it's about the nonsensical way of packing I'm pretty sure she knows me by this particular incident I ordered the powdered version of slsa when it got to me the bag had been split open there was product everywhere all over the peanuts all over everything else in the packaging my cat being nosy as he is got into the packing peanuts and I ended up having taking him to the vet because he was poisoned! I don't care if they refunded my money I don't care if they gave me creditAnna Marie knows that because of this she will never get a dime from me until their shipping practices change hell no! And as far as shipping if I ordered today I won't get it for 4 months and that has nothing to do with that has everything to do with them probably waiting to the last minute to ship out anything and they use the slowest snails the slowest trucks the slowest everything it would be 6 weeks 3 months 4 months before you get your order! Soap Queen I don't think so! The chemistry store in South Carolina I get in 2 days make your own buzz 2 to 3 days yes I know they're in Washington my son is in Tacoma his order when he place it took 2 weeks so again never again! This is not being cheap their shipping practices are dangerous I'm surprised they could still afford liability insurance! and they obviously don't know what the word generally regarded as safe because that is something brambleberry is not not when you get your shipped order they don't care how they ship they just throw it in a box and if it breaks on its way to you oh well so go ahead have a nice day don't let the vet bill hit you on your way out!
