I just watched this just now, and quite honestly, knowing my mother, knowing my parents, I was likely named from this television broadcast, this Anne Murray song. I was born just over two weeks later. I feel that that is the case any how. I can easily see my mother watching this while pregnant with me. It might even by why the song hits me so hard. It reminds me of family. It reminds me my youth, of what I know as the golden era in my life. But perhaps that part is true for everyone. Many people seem to have personal stories attached to this song.

Anne Murray is a precious, down-to-earth, talented lady! I actually had the pleasure of talking with her two summers ago in Nova Scotia! She is so nice!

She was Karen Carpenter. Karen didn't die of anorexia. All a lie. The studio owns their name, is not renewing their contract, they need a new plan. Just compare the voices, face, lips, style, etc.

Saw her about 15 years ago in Reno. She sang live (unlike in this video), but her voice was hoarse.

It's kind of cheesy looking back and seeing how things were things were lip synced in the 1970's, but no one would really know any better watching an old television of the time period. At best you had a 26" bubble screen, in colour if you were lucky, if you had money to spend. I follow some current artists who might be her equivalent in other countries, in other languages, and I sure appreciate when they actually do sing. One of them, one that I follow closely, she sounds even better when she is just natural and on the fly She is great. She is extremely talented. At least I take a strong liking to her. I would mention their names, but you wouldn't likely wouldn't know them, nor their songs, nor their language. It's just that I think about the differences between them singing live versus not when they are entertaining and then putting videos up on Facebook, or here on KZbin.
