I remember when I first heard Anne Murray sing; I was just a kid but I found her voice utterly captivating. Still do. She didn't need pyrotechnics, multiple mics, hype men or a DJ, she herself was the show, that was all those people paid to see and hear- a pure songstress. So rare these days.

I was on the front row and am clearly seen in the audience for 20 seconds. God I was young!!! Got to shake her hand took her band to the hotel in our music store van. There are four stages as I recall. I was sadly in the last row to watch Jefferson Airplane with Papa John Creach on jazz/rock violin but suddenly lights went on behind us and we swiveled our chairs around and voila--I'm in the front center row and she starts singing. Wow--what a setup!

There is only one thing I can say…. Since I grew up with her in the 70s, but born in the early 60s, OMG!!! OMG! OMG!!!!! All music in that era was fantastic! When this song came on as kids we knew we had 2 options. Leave the house for the day or stay and help mom clean. No one wanted to stay. Not because we didn't want to.
