I met her at a book signing for Servant/Bones a few wks after this aired. One of the coolest celebrities I’ve ever met, she’s really great to to her fans. There had to be over a thousand people in line. I mentioned that I saw this segment and she said they talked for about 3 hours - we only get to see about 25 mins!

She's so fucking weird and she loves it. That's why she's my hero.

What a formidable, beautiful, vengeful, compassionate collection of contradictions, in a word, human. For me, this is the finest filmed conversation with her I’ve watched.

The way she said that so matter of factly. Lol. Get a grip, Charlie.

@@bbrown333 he was a sexual predator which ultimately ended his show. So he’s *possibly* instilled in a notion of objectifying. - not certain of that here, but he is creepy sometimes, it seems. Not her, tho! She’s fantastic with all her intersecting topics, in her work

So ahead of her time. I was so looking forward to meeting her at the Lestat vampire ball one day… never made it in time, but I will go and celebrate her life and the wonderful worlds/characters she created.

It’s a hoot to watch this interview after her first Charlie Rose appearance. The humility of newfound success vs being an international celebrity author is crazy.

Damn. What a fantastic interview. What was this... 1996? Talking about terrorism and Republican ridiculousness..? How perceptive.

Charlie Rose is a terrible interviewer. He doesn’t listen at all, just keeps interrupting constantly. So aggravating

I wonder what political views Anne would in the present day. Things have really changed with the dems since this interview 🙄. I love her books and her intelligence!

"We (Catholics) didn't go to certain movies, we didn't wear certain clothes, TV was going to rot our souls" Well, Anne, isn't that true ? I do really like the novels The Witching Hour and The Feast of All Saints, but her liberalism and this anything goes worldview is a cancerous poison.
