As a proud atheist, I love her all the same. It doesn't matter whether she wrote about vampires, angels, witches. She had a gift, and she will be missed by many myself included. That is the true legacy of an artist of such calibre.

I spent years on my life, 11 to 14, immersed in her world of Vampires. They taught me a lot about myself and kept me company when I was a broody, unhappy kid. She was fantastic.

her vampire books were never horrors, they were deep and delightful emotional reads. not gore not shocking, but really deep intellectual loving things...anne's love of history and her pondering of life and its meaning comes through it. christian readers, muslim readers, jewish readers, athiest readers all love her work. she had a god given gift.

I believe I understand, a little, her reasons for going back to christianity now. I loved her books and now knowing a little more about her life seems to fill in some of the gaps. Seeing that she loved her family, seeing her smile, her lifestyle, was a pleasure. Bless your family. RIP Anne. 😪

Born as a Roman Catholic I've been a practicing Buddhist since my 20's. As a rule, I do not read fiction but I had read "IwaV" long before the movie. Dealing with devastating loss myself, I connected with the idea a story of a child that would never age.. of surviving the loss of loved ones. Once, at an auction, I was bidding on an original copy of a massive book on Catholicism with Anne Rice's notes on nearly every paragraph, the bidding wasn't that high but I backed off and someone else got that book. I normally do not regret losing an auction but that book has been in my mind often. I would loved to have spent hours reading all of her notes dissecting the ideas that she would pour into "IwaV. RIP a person that questioned faith, grief, and believed in the end that we all should believe in perseverance.

Such a lovely individual and great writer. How she described herself from a child with her imaginations and in her writing literally is how I feel. It’s nice to know that what I felt wasn’t crazy. She will be truly missed. I’m glad she shared her works with us. I love the flannel night gown. I’m young (kind of) I love mine. Call me old fashioned, I love it. Rest in Heaven Angel.

🌹🖤 Thrive peacefully through this eternal existence, Anne Rice. You'll always be one of my top favourite authors, with your visually intricate and historical dark fantasy storytelling. Also, always inspiring writers to write where the pain & happiness dwells the deepest. You wrote from the heart & soul, and an inspiration to many. 🌹🖤

I’m an athiest. Heavily lean that way, at any rate. I took a minor in Religious Studies in college (majored in Philosophy, went on to obtain J.D.). It’s true that even atheists acknowledge something mysterious about life (9:33), and it is true that Rice was a magnificent author. She is already greatly missed!

I know that others have already mentioned this, but in the U.S. with our multi-cultural society, not everyone believes in the Judeo-Christian god, even though we know she is talking about the Christian god in the Catholic faith. Still not everyone believes in the god she is talking about. Just Sayin!

former Catholics found it suffocating its not the same as believing or not in Christ but Religion often is so suffocating people turn to Atheism thinking that is better when it does not have to be that way you can love Jesus and not subscribe to a religion I do read the bible Jesus is love he loves everyone Yes he loves Chris her son

I’ve never understood any backlash from the Christian community. Considering the love Jesus portrayed was one of acceptance and welcoming. He intentionally set out and choose the most challenged of men to become disciples. An example for all Christians to follow. A great irony indeed.

How strange human beings know they're going to die but most times go about trying to prevent it. The Bible is very informative and contradictory but flawed because how absurd to believe a God who can see ALL-THINGS created that very "Devil" he is punishing mankind loves you!
@e.witover4222
@e.witover4222 2 жыл бұрын
You've obviously missed the entire point of the Bible. God did not create the devil. He did not punish us with the devil. And yes he does love us. Reread the beginning of the Bible of Genesis.

@@e.witover4222 😒.. Not because you can't read and are ignorant to what is before you mean everyone else is. Apparently, not even common sense resonates with you because by that alone if God is "The Creator" of all things who made this Devil? Then now you are going to regurgitate the same nonsense about God creating an Angel who then fell from grace blah blah blah as if that same God didn't have foresight so where did that Devil's knowledge come from? Please have a seat and start using your brain for once instead of perpetuating this NONSENSE!

She left the Catholic Church again - and said she could no longer call herself a Christian in good conscience - back in 2010, due to the Christian Rights attitudes on birth control, gay marriage and their rabid anti Science rhetoric amongst other things.
