Yes, exactly! Each book is like a world, in and of itself. When I read 'Feast of All Saints' I became fascinated with pre-Civil War New Orleans history (all of which is accurately represented in that novel, some based on actual people.) It is like you can live, for a little while, in the worlds she creates :) I just LOVE it.

I really respect a person with such renowned status that will take the time to show appreciation for her supporters. Celebrities make so much money off of people who admire what they do, but overlook them. They simply don't care enough. It really takes my degree of admiration for Anne Rice and her work to a new level to see such humility. For this she'll always get my support. ♥

It's so amazing that today we're able to connect with each other so easily. To be able to interact so personally with one people we've never met, and even people we admire and grew up influenced by is truly amazing, and makes the world seem like such a smaller, more accessible place(yes, Anne, through your books many of us have certainly grown up with you). That's what I keep telling people! They're not just vampire/angel/phantasy novels, they create a fascinating panorama that entails many things in their fundament, like history, geography, philosophical perspectives. So rich in detail, providing the reader with an abundance of pieces of knowledge to pick up and investigate further. I became interested in the old Celtic cults, for instance, just because of a side story in "The Vampire, Lestat". And oh that language level it's all presented in!! ♥

Hi,Anne, I post on your FB page fairly often, I think you and Christopher are wonderful (I post on his page, too) I haven't actually read any of your books but I'm going to start now and send for those bookplates. While listening to this, I was turning my head sideways to what books you had on your shelves! I spotted a book on Vespasian, I'm reading Robert Hushes "Rome" at the moment, an interesting history of a city I love and habe been in 3 times.
