I’m starting to wonder if Sylvia deliberately imitated Anne’s voice and poetry style.

A bit . Or at least it makes it understandable why they used to be friends .

@@tatianadekun9087 I've noticed that both Anne Sexton and Sylvia Plath had New England accents. From what I've heard of the two poets I would say that Anne Sexton had an upper-class, almost transatlantic accent, "can't" sound ing like "cahnt". Syvlvia Plath's accent is what I would call more specifically a Boston accent, saying "heart" so it sounds a lot like "hat". It's a pleasure to hear both poets; to hear their actual voices and accents and inflections.

Sexually assaulting her daughter is kind of of deal breaker for me. I prefer my poets not to be involved in incest. But I geuss that is not the truth of it.

jack smith I just found out about this recently and I feel completely disenchanted. Yet I can’t find very much info on this online and hardly anyone mentions it in the comment on YT. Where is there more info on this?

I don't think you will. I just googled it.I found her through Peter Gabriel he wrote the song Mercy street inspired by her. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoraaoioqKt9l5Y In thinking more about it. I think it is messed up but people make mistakes you know? Big ones. Most can't be undone. She took her own life and from what I can tell was used by males which is not un-common. I guess what I am saying his Hurt people Hurt people. Can we separate the artist from the art? Most times we cannot. I like to think that there was good in her. I`m a social worker by trade and I guess I see in shades of grey.

Vivian123 To be honest, I’m sure that there are things you’ve done in your life that were not good and could paint your character in a negative light. We’re all human. And although, I do feel the same level of disenchantment after reading hearing her daughter’s story, I still respect her art.

Hearing allegations made about a dead poetess (who cannot reply to the allegations) is a deal breaker . . . for what? which deal? Were you planning on hiring Anne Sexton as a governess or something?
