A musician like Mutter doesn't get bored. That's what keeps them always on top...their continual quest for and discovery of something new in the music every time they play it and a real musician WILL find something new every time they play a work. Boredom does not exist in the mind of a true musician.

The physicality of her playing bursts through the screen and amps up the beauty of the piece.

All that matters is she is a stunning beauty playing a stunning beautiful piece of music... beauty begets beauty, and here is a prime example of that.

So beautiful! A divine tool, Mozart and she, to feel the Precence of God!

And by the way, she didn't choose the tempo, Mozart, did. It's marked Presto in case you hadn't noticed. She's simply playing at the prescribed tempo.

Well, if there was only one way to do it we would only need one recording of each work and we'd be done. I like that they all do it differently. That's what makes it worth to keep listening.

I see that some connoisseurs here feel they´re obliged to point flaws in her playing. That´s the problem with knowing things. You "think" them. Well, since I´m no expert, I have the freedom to just feel the music and say that her playing is simply divine. Sometimes ignorance is a blessing.

There are very skilled players in the orchestra, and certainly some of them (if not the majority of them) are able to do a good to great job playing the same piece as a soloist. But Frau Mütter is in the top of the game since she was a teenager during the seventies. Her performances may not please some "experts", but she is well above the average orchestra player, no question about that. I appreciate her more than most of today's soloists, but that's just my personal taste.

A question for musicians. How good is she compared to the string ensemble? I'm wondering how much more skill is involved in what she does compared to one of the other violinists in the orchestra? Would all those in the ensemble aspire to be a soloist?

I think also this tempo was little bit fast.But her techenique is amazing and her sounds are outstanding when she plays fast passage.but musical student shouldn't immitate her performance and we should regard this performance to her individuality:)

I think the tempo varies differently to each person... i t depends on taste and besides there are thousands of interpretations... one can not say it is wrong or right... however one must be able to justify why he/ she did it that way...

@dziady1 What do you? Are you a featured soloist? Perhaps a revered conductor. Maybe a widely known and respected composer. I ask this because you seem to criticize so much and bluntly talk about the second rate of others, therefore I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt and humor the possibility that maybe you have earned this juvenile sense of superiority.
@texbevery739612 жыл бұрын
So dziady1 has appeared as a “featured soloist” “a revered conductor” and a “widely known and respected composer”. Must have been quite a treat ! Seriously, is this just another part of your illusionary world in which you see yourself as possessing a “better knowledge of the art” (and yet unable to prove it) or have you really suffered such humiliating failure in the musical world that you feel this irrepressible need to insult anyone who succeeds where you can not?

Then you must be famous. What's your name? However, I don't know of any famous soloists/conductors/composers who would waste so much time on youtube commenting on videos they DIDN'T enjoy. I would they think have more important things to do (like performing, conducting, or composing). Also, it's okay to have different points of view, but consider giving reasons for your view. e.g.: "This is awful BECAUSE..." or "This is awful, but here's an EXAMPLE of a GOOD performance..."

@Rahetor2 Not really. Lady Gaga is an American, and has far more access to celebrity - and money. Lady Gaga has been lauded by the likes of Ellen de Generes and Oprah Winfrey - even Barack Obama. I doubt these three would even know who Anne Sophie Mutter is. As far as her playing is concerned, always find it well - clinical. More modern players like Chang and Hahn are "exaggerated", even a bit show-offy. I must admit I prefer the old style like Kreisler - much kinder to my old ears.

Every single violinist in that orchestra can play the solo part easily. In a good professional orchestra, even the worst violinist can do what the soloist does. They don't get much glory, but they are all VERY good. But how good are they compared to Mutter? She is much better than most/all of them, with the possible exception of the concertmaster (leader of the orchestra). Concertmasters of good orchestras are usually soloist-calibre. At this level, it's hard to say who is "better."
@10clowns16 жыл бұрын
apart from this being a caricature in this ridiculous tempo, no one can say that she doesn't play well the violin. still far from being my cup of tea...
