My living room dining room combination is my room. All of my favorite things are in there, no tv, just a beautiful space of my own to sit in, to have my coffee, to put my feet up, to take a nap, whatever I feel like doing. My husband has his man cave with his giant tv and all the things he loves, so everyone is happy.

Hi Anne. They say "Home is where the heart is" and you have certainly achieved that result throughout your home, especially this room. I love the Dash of Pepper from Benjamin Moore - a very warm and cozy color - very primitive and it does really ground the room. You have done an absolutely amazing job! I agree, and I’m glad you chose a bedroom and not the kitchen! I don’t think I could relax near my kitchen or laundry room, there’s always some sort of task calling my name. I purchased a swivel rocker for my family room where I spin around and stare out my window. Mornings are my favorite, I watch the sunrise and the deer visit our pond while I sip on my coffee. It’s my happy place.

@@donnakish2316 hi Donna! Thanks! I would change that floor in a heartbeat but it’s a bit complicated. It’s been poly’d and has been painted in lead paint so the only way to redo it would be a good stripping which could be a toxic nightmare so for now…. Black carpets…. Also the yellow is original to the Russian Bear restaurant and I like to keep a few historic nods to the history of the building. There may come a time when I am ready to do the work and put in the time for that project but for now… I’ll leave it. That was a great question!
