I fight depression during the holidays. Seeing these homes and the love they've put into them make me happy. I've lost so many family and friends through Christmas (including our son) makes me sad, but also makes me glad I had them in my lives.

Lainey’s words brought tears to my eyes! I bought a collection of antique sad irons off a man up the road at a yard sale. He didn’t have them outside but he was waiting for someone to come along who loved and appreciated antiques so he showed me and my husband around his home. He was selling off his things so his family would be taken care of because he had terminal cancer. He passed away last year and each time I’m in my kitchen washing dishes I look up at my windowsill and think of him. Antiques are wonderful that way. They have a history to them and it’s like their owners live on through them in our homes. The Santa collection in her dining room is fabulous. I also love the “5th Avenue” bathroom too! It keeps things interesting having different themes and styles throughout the home. Great video ladies!

From Velvet- This video is so full of the memories of Christmas’s gone by and the memories of what were. Everything is so beautiful and charming. The log cabins are cozy and warm and and add charm to the decor. I live in the Hocking Hills of Ohio (Hocking county) and can give a bit of information of the log cabins. All I know is they were sold in the Hocking Hills Craft Mall in the 1990’s when homemade crafts like afghans and quilts and baskets were the thing. I’m going to guess also sold in other Artisan Mall stores. But alas I cannot give a maker name. The two story ones sold around $50 and the smaller ones around $30. My friend and her husband built an Appalachian style cabin and I gifted a tall one to her.

Beautiful words Lainey! Couple tears ran down my face. You are right! My grandma got me into decorating when i was a little boy and alot of her things she give me through the years, we both love country and primitive. Alot of Christmas items she give me too i put out every year and they just take me back to special memories when i was a kid at Christmas at mamaws. As a matter of fact you know that tall skinny glass santa you have on your mantel that's blue? My grandma had two of those but they are red she give those to me years ago! I have them with my tall pointed Santa collection on my dresser.

I love prim decor but I too find myself with a fancier style of things in my bathrooms as well as my living room that is more of an elegant country, my garden room is more of a cottage look. I think it all works and blends together quite well. TFS - I always enjoy all the different decor ideas and love to see how others have decorated their homes. When I realize that so much of what I have was once enjoyed by others in past generations, it gives everything a special meaning. Merry Christmas

Oh lainy those cabins are spectacular!! I have 3 of the little ones you put a cone insense in and when you light the smoke comes out of the chimney, but nothing as amazing as yours! The lamp so unique! I laughed out loud about the red furniture becoming a problem. I collect miniature red chairs as my house is tiny and I can't collect all I love. Your home is a show stopper!
