Aw this brought back so many memories for me, a VT and NH girl who moved away when I was 18 (15 years ago now) to Hawaii and eventually California. I actually used to work at the bed and breakfast you stayed at when I was 17! I remember my grandparents telling me I am from a very special place (Sugar Hill, NH near Franconia Notch), that people come from all over to see and that I should appreciate it. Of course I just thought it was boring and like any other small town and I couldn't wait to get out and move away. Now I miss it and really appreciate what a unique and beautiful gem my hometown area is. I hope to buy back my ancestral land there someday and build a second home. Thanks for sharing your life with us Ally!

Wonderful Video, Ally! I love the joy and feelings of inspiration that fill my heart and soul when I watch your videos….. And my questions from the Patreon behind the scenes salve video were answered in this one! I love how you’re tweaking the recipe and playing with ingredients. I know exactly how you feel in the midst of the process. It’s such a deep grounding connection to Mother earth, like we’re an extension of her, fulfilling the healing purpose of the plants she’s grown… I’m going to have to try those buckeyes.. I’ve never heard of those til now.. and they’re right up my alley being pesce-vegan and gluten free! I can’t wait for your next video!

Are you really present during your activities? How much time do you spend planning videos, setting up shots, looking through a lense, staring at a computer, editing, etc etc. These type of videos with the soft voice overs betray the sense of realism off camera and behind the scenes. All of those shots using drones etc in these type of videos must take hours and I bet its all bloody stressful. Ask yourself is it worth it? Are you thinking about KZbin and social media a lot? Be honest. Are you relaxed and happy.

Hi there! :) It's neat that you brought this topic up because many people don't even think about it, not that they have to of course. I would say that with any job, you have to keep a work life balance, although it can be difficult when the two begin to mesh. I aim to live life first always, and the capture things as they happen that I think may be of interest, or inspiring, to others. At first, it was tough to remember to get the camera out and felt tasking at times, but now it is a second nature and I still feel very present during my activities. The way I look at editing and the time spent doing it is like creating a visual journal of my life I can look back on in the far future to reminisce with. I think having this channel actually positively pushes me to get more into my passions and create more recipes, tinctures, salves, sprays, etc. I do love this path
