Zou zo tof zijn als het grootste deel van NL Anneke en The Gathering niet langer enkel associeert met 'Strange Machines' en haar/hun vroegere 'melodic / goth metal', maar ook oor heeft voor haar en hun latere, meer 'trip rocky' werk. Denk vooral aan de soundscapes van 'A Sound Relief'. Ook The Gentle Storm en haar werk met Devin, Danny, Lorrainville, Arstidir en solo verdient zeker meer anndacht door het breder publiek. Hopelijk weet BZ in voldoende mate de breedte van haar (en TG's) indrukwekkende discografie voor het grote publiek onder de aandacht te brengen.

The singers on this show are always amazing. Anneke has been a favorite of mine since The Gathering of the mid-90s. However, this show is absolutely NOTHING without that amazing backing band. Lesley Van Der Aa seriously holding it down.

Watching the whole episode is even better, because Van Velzen explained that he wrote the song to thank his father, who taught him to sing in harmony by playing Beatles songs in the car. Sadly, he passed away in 2013. Now, the song is a tribute, to him and to music in general. That‘s why Anneke wanted to sing it here for Van Velzen.
