Why have I never seen your channel before?! Your enthusiastic recommendations have left me quite breathless, I've been won over entirely and have hastily scribbled down a few fragrances which you've recommended but which I've not yet tried. I'm excited to track them down and see if I fall into a micro-rapture over them in the way you did during this video. Woo! Thanks Anne, you're both a breathe of fresh air and a firecracker at the same time. Great channel. 💖 PS= My favourite Harrods-exclusive is Robert Piguet's 'Knightsbridge'. It was love at first sniff and I waited for such a long time for it to be re-stocked that I emailed the brand directly to find out if they'd discontinued it. Alas, I now have a bottle and wear it when I crave the most divinely blended orris note I've ever smelled. Powdery, creamy-sweet rose-orris...glorious.

I think I'm going to blind buy Liis' Bo' also. Anne has almost the same tastes as I do so I'm feeling confident about ordering it blind. I also think you have similar taste to me too-- I loved Amber Musk the first time I sprayed it which pleasantly shocked me as it's not the sort of fragrance I'd normally target. It's fantastically wearable year round.

@@AnneLauren Me neither. It's why I'll have a cheeky spray in Selfridges but hold back on forking out for a full bottle. When I get my basic 'olfactory capsule wardrobe' set up I may introduce it as an indulgence. Anything that doesn't perform, I cannot justify buying no matter how much pleasure I get rom smashing my nostrils up against my forearm and snorting up the pathetic sillage like a drunk, hungry pig. 🐷 It's why I'm so disappointed and cross with Fort & Manle: their fragrances are heaven, all of them. But they turn into some sort of insipid, watery mist and dissolve entirely within-- I'm not joking-- half an hour. All The Queen's Men, Bojnokoff, Honiara and Late Harvest are so beautiful I could cry over them. I'd buy them all if they performed better. Epic technical fail. I used to love Charlatan too (no dupe possible for this one) but I think it's discontinued.😞

You are going to love Dark is Night by Henry Rose. It’s so sensual and unisex. Heavy on Patchuouli and Vanilla. I hope you get to try it. They are LA based, so yaaaaay to us California girls.

I totally agree with that Gris Charnel extrait is perfectly right in the middle. Such a beautiful unisex scent. I got to meet David at ZGO perfumery and my mind was blown by all the ingredients Bdk used in this fragrance. Lovely haul by the way 🥰🥰🥰 sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️

I would wear Gris Charnel on the moor ,in a fog wearing and cloak. Not to be cosy but to embrace the experience. I live in a hot climate so my chances of finding a foggy, cold moor is remote at best

I love the Liis Bo perfume 👍❤❤❤❤Sooooo good and it doesn’t get taken over by the Tonka & spice like many in this realm do. It keeps the fresh light wood scent like a fresh Forrest. So great and I got the sample set and then ordered the full bottle with credit from purchase price of sample pack. Thanks for the great recommendation.

OMG Rosendo Mateau No 5 took me on a journey..I didn't know how I felt about it but I absolutely am obsessed with it now. 1st perfume out of about 100 samples that I'm buying a big bottle and that says a lot! Would have never found it without you! So frigging UNIQUE- I can safely say I have never smelled anything like this.Soo SEXY 😊 ❤ P.S. It was also the 1st perfume my boyfriend ever has complimented me on so Bonus 🎉 I really need to try Gris Charnel! I love black tea 😩

Gris Charnel blew me away on first sniff. Fragrances rarely live up to the hype for me, but this was one of the rare exceptions. It was also the fragrance that helped me appreciate iris, which can often ruin a composition for me. Perfect cozy, delicious cold weather scent!

If you like A whiffe of a Waffle Cone you should try Olfactive Studio Chypre Shot. Its similar but better and more long lasting. Its amazing!

Ok- so-- a summery/spring gourmand- The Gate Inside out....ice cream.... with a HINT of absinthe.... at FIRST, I was like Whaaaat? But now- now I love it! It's a unique ice cream! I really really like it now. Took a few wears to appreciate that absinthe... I was looking for a more traditional gourmand... but this is amazing now! It's beautiful! And airy- sweet but nowhere near TOO sweet.... Btw- my Brompton immortels is supposed to be hear tomorrow- YAYYY! I ordered Ros. Mat 5 already and LOVE it- so, thank you!!!!

My husband had the same reaction, the first time I wore Bo he immediately noticed and said "Wow, I don't know what you're wearing, but you smell incredible!" My partner is incredibly hard to impress with scents, he's crazy-picky. So to find one that we were both obsessed with? All I can say is thank you!!! Like you said, nothing smells quite like this, super transportive.

I love tobacco notes too. Three of my favourite fragrances are 'Late Harvest' by Fort & Manle, the much fruitier 'Rivalite Imperiale' by Plume Impressions (the latter has the most incredibly compelling ghost note of toasted coconut which marries so well to the juicy mirabelle plum-dried fruit accord and both sit perfectly beneath the steeping sweet tobacco, Elizabethan-era style, almost reminding me of the coconut-whiskey-wood feel of 'Baraonda' by Nasomatto and 'Angels Share' by Kilian. A great summer alternative to the heavier tobacco fragrances). The last of my favourite tobacco-forward fragrances is 'Memories' by The Gate. It's like Tom Ford's 'Tobacco Vanille' but with the vanilla pulled back in the mix and compensated with black cherry compote volume and-- wait for it -- ends up turning into a cherry-cola Chupa-Chup vibe. It smells just like a cherry-cola lollipop has been rubbed all over your collarbone. The most epic cola meets sherbet dip-dab, is Andy Tauer's spectacular oddball offering that is 'Incense Rose'. I smell neither incense nor rose in it, just the zingy fizzy powder keg of sherbet attached to slow burning cherry pipe tobacco ready to shoot a bottle of Mexican cola to the moooooooon! I love an oddball 'almost gourmand' which flirts with the dessert menu but remains in the lounge by the bar, smoking a cigar and adding to both the romantic, nostalgic atmosphere and electric energy simultaneously. This comment is too long to join you in rhapsodising over elemi and other incense & sweet smoke fragrances. I think we may have slightly similar tastes which is rare for me to find.

Imaginary Authors has some interesting scents. I also loved Whiff of a Waffle Cone and Memoirs of a Trespasser. The other one I really liked was Fox in the Flowerbed. I’m thinking of getting these 3 in full size bottles. I like Gold, Milk, & Book from Commodity, too. I’m thinking about getting Moss. Really liked that one as well. Navitus has 3 new releases! Anxious to sniff these….

@@juliaroe3499 Fox is very laundry-esque smelling. I really like it, but I can definitely see why a lot of people wouldn’t like it. It’s definitely not one to overspray. Commodity’s Book actually is comparable to Yesterday’s Haze. At least it smelled very similar to Book to my nose.

Ok I own and love Rosendo Mateu No 5, but to me, its so pungent and strong and definately an evening scent that smells like vanilla dust and rubber tires! No fairy-vibes for sure.. I work at a techno club some weekends and this is one of my go to scents to wear for that occasion and I always get a lot of compliments :) Its so interesting, I feel like we love a lot of the same scents, but I perceive most of them quite differently than what you describe them like :D

@@anjudevera58 Don’t blind buy it! It is the strongest woody molecular fragrance that I have used/smelled. To my nose it is mostly cashmeran with some nice sweetness in the drydown. It does not smell to anything that it is compared to in fragrantica. I own Molecule 01 & 04, this is not it. It has beast performance, projection is also excellent. It is more masculine, but I just love it! I use this in the evenings & Eau Duelle in the daytime.

Girl, your description of Gris Charnel vibes is so spot on. I had an outfit (black and white) that was very Chanel vibes and I felt I didn’t have a fragrance to match. You are incredible Anne- your descriptions are so excited and writer-ly! I don’t always appreciate the ones you do (Delina in any version, Teissendu also I didn’t really like it 😢- maybe I’ll re-try.). But mostly I trust your recommendations and can’t wait to try Rosendo #5, Hibiscus Mahajad, Memoirs of Trespasser and maybe a couple others. One thing I wonder- how can all these perfumes be loaded with saffron when it’s so expensive and rare? I wonder if they use synthetic saffron?

If anyone can recommend perfumes that aren’t overly sweet and not spiced up. I like clean but strong. I like Tuscan Leather, Bo/Liis. I find the perfumes I really like don’t last besides the ones I mentioned above. I do like white clean florals like Jo Malone Wood sage & sea Salt and Peony blush suede, & discontinued Waterlily from Jo Malone also. I used to like Cabotine also…….I think my tastes are strange compared to the market. I would love some recommendations if anyone has similar strange likes.😊

Hi Anne, I have just gotten into perfumes (thanks to you ty)!! I keep buying discovery sets and was going to buy one for Commodity to figure out what bottle(s) to buy but realize THERE MUST BE A BETTER WAY to smell these scents than spending money on discovery sets.. how do you go about trying these perfumes? I don't believe Macy's has these niche perfumes but Nordstrom should but they don't have all their line. Anywhere else? What about those fragrance store in outlet malls that only sells perfume - are they good to buy from? So how do you go about deciding what perfumes to buy

Great vid! I’m stalking Commodity for sure. Unpopular opinion I blind bought Maison Crivelli Hibiscus and I should’ve got a sample.. I don’t know if something is wrong with the one I bought but it’s the absolute most off putting scent to me 😭 it hurt my nose and turned my stomach.. I’m hoping my smell is broken from covid and it changes because I’m so bummed about it.. I get no vanilla.. not really floral just strong spice or something. I do love your vids and opinions so much ☺️

Ok I’m not even kidding I just blind bought bo because I have been on the HUNT for a California redwood/ golden gate park smelling fragrance for FOREVER!!! I was born in Berkeley and have family in Piedmont still so that smell is more nostalgic than I can put into words. I HAVE TO PUT YOU ON TO THIS FRAGRANCE!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU LOVE WARM SWEET SPICEY FRAGRANCES!!! It's marketed towards men but it's DEFINITELY UNISEX and it's only about 10$ for 100ml!!! CREMO SPICES ABD BLACK VANILLA!!!! NOTES ARE cardamom tobacco and black vanilla!!! It's also a cologne or edt that acts like a edp! Literally I work in a hospital and wash my hands and mid arms constantly and it's projected for 5.5 hours then ce closer to the skin and this was a constant solid projection! PLEASE GIVE THIS A SMELL!!! IT BLEW MY MIND IS A FRAGRANCE THAT I WILL NOT GO WITH OUT IN MY COLLECTION NOW! also another one I found by a different house is land of the free yosemite! It's also marketed towards men it's not as beast mode as the other one I mentioned but I love it too! It's black pepper juniper berries and cedar and it slightly citrus like sweet fresh and clean it's def unisex slightly masculine but I've gotten compliments on it all day so obviously it's not to masculine to where I can't pull it off last about 3.5 hours but it's a cologne and like 9$ for 100ml there are others like Bourbon vanilla by cremo and silver water and birtch and bergamot and musk that I liked but non even come close to spices and black vanilla it's reminds me of magenta tanzanite but better some say it's similar y9 spice bomb extreme because of all the vanilla please give it a smell or hit me up on Facebook ill send decants !

Wicked Good smells quite different but it's nice! It smells like a tootsie roll but used with a slightly darker chocolate. It's very simplistic. Very literal and gourmand. Yummy but I don’t personally want to smell just like this, I like a little more complexity :) Becomes mainly vanilla in the dry down. Hope that helps 🥰

I haven’t but I really want to! Although Bo is a strong performer, the scent is so likable and approachable, that it could never be offensive imo, it’s not a heavy, intense wood 🥰. For a forest recommendation, I love Ellis Brooklyn Apres as well 😊

Try Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee or "starry night". I love it so much I have it in EDT and EDP. Very unusual scent…was inspired by the moonlight, starry skies, cool scent of woods and enjoyment in nature and solitude.
