UPDATE: The farm has found a fantastic new owner! Stay tuned to meet him!
We have a pretty huge announcement this week...Adam of No Trades and I have suddenly and unexpectedly been given the amazing opportunity to relocate to Nashville, TN and we're taking it! This means we will be selling our farm in Seattle, WA! While we are beyond excited for the next farm adventure(!), it is, however, a very bittersweet undertaking, because it means leaving behind four years of hard work and many, many, many projects. I've spent the last several years working full time to transform the dilapidated property we bought into a dream for an urban farmer and creator like myself. Please help us find someone who will carry the torch and continue developing and enjoying this wonderful piece of land! An easy commute to downtown Seattle, I'm hoping I can share my dream with someone who will continue to build it!
------------------------
I'm Anne of All Trades. In Seattle, I have a woodworking, blacksmithing and fabrication shop, a selection of furry friends, and an organic farm. This channel is aimed at sharing my passion for working with my hands, being a good steward of the earth, and preserving antiquated skills and traditions.

Over 200 chickens, 4 goats in the back of an old horse trailer with a turned over skiff boat for shade on top, pulled by our truck that had a deep freezer full of hog, 2 dogs, 2 pygmy goats in the back of the truck. Inside one dog, one bird, 2 deer heads, This is how we transported our animals from florida to Kansas, I drove. The looks we got, but it was fun. GOODLUCK to you all. :) Peace

Anne, I’ve made the mistake of going back to properties where I used to live. The new owners will change your existing property to their dream property and why wouldn’t they? That’s what you did. See this move as a new chapter in your life. See your old farm as an apprenticeship. You learnt a lot of skills, gained a lot of experience and have become a better person in every way. The next chapter will bring new challenges to test yourself. You of all people love new challenges, that’s who you are. Try your best not to go back to this farm. What you see will probably break your heart.

yep. The place I grew up... new folks painted the amazing wood in house (walls were book matched floor to ceiling all the way down and around the hallways... trees like that just don't exist anymore)... old trees that had been there for more than 100yrs cut down "to get more light" argh... best to just let it go. Look up "Tom Hobbs" he has a nursery in BC, had an amazing house with an really amazing garden... then he sold it... again... best to let it go (or in my case, plan to leave the place you love feet first)

Wow!! First off, it was incredible to see in one video what you've accomplished in four years. Secondly, congratulations on what I presume will be a significant step forward on your path. I always find it incredulous when someone is able to pick up and relocate to a very different part of the world to pursue their dreams and I admire that. Good luck and all the best to you!

I was blown away at first, but then I remembered you have been talking about Nashville every now and then. Lot of good thing about the Nashville area including less rain, lots of mandolin players, great woodworkers and woodworking schools, all around friendly people and of course that Carpenther gal! So exciting to build a new shop from the ground up too. Prayers for a successful relocation.

Anne, WHAT????? I could feel all of your emotions. I remember you commenting on Tennessee. Buying before selling is stressful. Have had to do that myself, but not on your scale. You will be successful in whatever you decide, ( I'd like to go back to Arkansas ). I don't know what sparked the move , even after you told us. Moving the beasties will be traumatizing, but they will be with their mommy and will adjust as you will. Hope you have a support system in TN. Don't know how anyone could not like this. God speed and lift your wings! It might take awhile to match people to your property.

Anne, this is good news. You have done everything you can to your existing farm, you need a new challenge. A larger farm near Nashville, where land is a lot cheaper than Seattle, why not? By the time I was 20, I'd lived on 3 different continents. You are still going to be in the US. Your friends will all want to visit, especially since you're going to be close to Nashville! With all the friends you have made on utube, you will have a heap of people waiting to meet you as soon as you move. I've been reading the messages left for you and so many are excited for your new projects. Look forward to your new life down South! Best wishes from Sydney, Australia.

You are so special. I don't even know you, just met you, but you have a creator's heart. I understand that so well. Our creations are our babies and it's hard to leave them. At 74 I've been a musician/lover of wood all my life. Made my living playing until I retired a few years back and since have been following my wood working muse until just recently when I realized that some of my early youtube music vids had caught on. Boom. New career! But I felt your emotion because I have been in several of those "transitional" stages in my life and it is hard to leave situations that you put your heart and soul into. But it's also a blessing because it's new ground to til so to speak. Even at my age, I just finished building a new little studio by myself (took a year) to do new music and videos from my Mt. cabin in NC. What a wonderful thing to be able to be a musician/creator again and not have to travel. I'm a new sub and can't wait to share your new journey with you. God bless you and just think of the "canvas" you now have to "paint" a new picture on. And someone else will be blessed because of you and the work you put in on your present place. Now that I found you i'm sure I'll binge watch your earlier vids. "Ain't" youtube wonderful!!

Wow! What an incredible beautiful place. My heart hurts with yours about you leaving but thank you for being an example of new opportunities and looking for bigger ways to grow in your knowledge and strengths. I too am having to leave all I have built over the past 15 years. But for different reasons. We are basically being forced out of our little country home I purchased in 2011. It's in a very humble section of town and I have put every penny, along with blood sweat and many tears into creating my little herbal homestead and greenhouse. It's just now to the point I could begin to start seeing a profit. But we are being forced out by the noise and pollution of a huge industrial grain and feed mill. Yes, I have been to the town board and Mayor, I have fought with everything I have including going to attornies to not only save my own ability to stay in my home and be healthy but to help all the other homes on my end of the block who are also very humble dwellings, to be able to have healthy lives here. But, to no avail. Not only are we being forced to move because of severe illness caused by the pollution. Sinus and respiratory infections so severe my ear drums rupture and I am beginning to loose hearing. Also, the intense vibrational noise and grinding triggers my daughters seizures. We have to go, we are loosing our home, and we are loosing our ability to even be able to sell this house at all let alone for what we need to be able to start over somewhere else. Oh how I love my animals and dream of having my little hobby farm. My daughter and I turned this place into a magical little safe haven for us both, and now we have to leave. We have no idea where we are going or how we will get there. We are sad amd broken and I have had such a hard time trying to see the good that might come. But watching your video today gave me hope and an example to make the best of it. Thank you. I personally could never afford to purchase such a beautiful place that you have. But if I could, I would be there tomorrow. Assuring you everything you started would be continued. Like you, those exact things, right down to that amazing truck you are restoring, has been and still is a huge part of my goals and my dreams. God bless you in your new adventures and God bless you in your search to find someone who will honor the things you have done there. My property is not that large so I could not incorporate all of the animals you have been able to, but with some prayer and faith, I hope to find a place we can start over. This time because of what I have learned over the past 15 years, I will be looking for land, with a little old run down house I can restore, because it's the land that brings about abilities and opportunities💙 Thank you for making my day a little happier and my vision a little brighter today.

No one who has followed your adventures so far can watch this without a tear or two .. for the end of this chapter but life moves on. Each time we face a new challenge, there is some grieving over the loss but then the new clicks in... Personally, I'd love to see you take on timber frame building for your new shop...but then I know nothing of exactly what kind of property you're moving to...... I just know that whatever it is, I'll be watching avidly and anxiously for it to happen.

Part of the teaching process is to keep learning and to not fall into a rut. I know that the next person will give it their twist on what is important and prioritize them. Don't make any thing more important than the journey through life. I feel like you in so many ways that what I accomplished just didn't mean that much. I can find highlights but I didn't think ahead far enough and got caught up in my own muck.See I got injured out of the blue and just when I made my biggest steps through the place I wanted to be, just to have it ripped away was a bitter and non forgiving thing and at 72 am still dealing with it. The south has gained some great opportunities for young entrepreneurs as the tax base and weather play into the trec of life... Best wishes

Hi Anne, I’m Spanish and I live in northern Spain, in Asturias. I'm sorry because my English is very bad, I hope you understand me. I was very moved that you have to leave that wonderful place where you have been building your dream for 4 years. I would like to be the one who relieved you and continued to build your dream, respecting everything you have done so far and taking care of the farm as you have done, since I love carpentry, blacksmithing, DIY, and I love animals and life in the country... but that isn’t possible for me. When I watch your videos I envy you for being as you are and for that wonderful place that you have been building with so much love, and I think that one day I would like to be like you and live in such a place here in Spain. So hopefully you will find the ideal person to take care of the farm as you would do it yourself. I wish you from the depths of my heart that you find happiness in Nashville and that you can leave the farm in the care of someone as wonderful as you to take care of it with love... and that next year when you return to visit, you will be pleasantly surprised at see that everything you have done in it’s very careful, and that they also continue to improve it every day as you would have done yourself. I send you a lot of encouragement and good luck from Spain.

Anne, it is sad that you’re moving. However, I know you are up to the challenges having a larger place will bring. I know the animals will appreciate a bigger place too. I hope as you do that whoever buys your property will appreciate the work you and your husband have put tin to it. I look forward to seeing the work you do on the new farm. I wish you all the best!!!!!!
