Dolly said in an interview: "You can do it soft you can do it slow or you can really drive it home" which was a reference to the white stripes version. Sadly I can't find that interview at the moment. I've seen it a couple of times years ago.

The fact they didn't modify the lyrics at all and still portray genuine emotion, really showcases their talent. Alot of people discount Meg's importance in the band, I don't. Meg set the stage for Jacks creativity to shine.

Jack White genuinely has one of the best voices in modern rock music imo. This version of the song certainly has a lot more atmosphere, maybe even more emotion around it compared to the original. Good to see the kid enjoying it as well!

Jack and Meg took an amazing song and used their tone and emotion to make the song more powerful. The song is about pleading to someone to not steal the love of their life when they easily could with their beauty and charm. You recognize that you could never compete and you're begging them not to try. It's so visceral and sad to have to get on your knees and beg. Props to dolly for writing it and props to the stripes for making it more real.

Speaking of Jack White, there's a clip from the movie "It Might Get Loud" where the three of them (White, The Edge from U2, and Jimmy Page) are talking about the song "Kashmir". Page starts playing, and the camera shows the other two with a "We're not worthy!" expression on their face, watching this Rock God playing one of his classics for them. All three end up playing along, having one hell of a jam session! If you're looking for something outside the box, how about something like this?

And yeah I noticed right away that Jack kept the gender the same which had he not it woulda killed the song, and hearing a guy sing it in the voice he has actually makes it sound like he could ben singing of an actual experience
