U2 is my absolute favorite band! They actually do not just talk the talk but walk it like musical Olympians. For me, the Joshua tree is one of the greatest albums of all time. I’ve only seen them once. When they were in Nashville, it happened to fall on my husband and my fifth wedding anniversary. He had been working out of town and was exhausted when he got home. When I woke him up from his nap to tell him we were going out to celebrate he was a bit cranky. Then I handed him two tickets and dude woke up. There is a video out there from when they played Nashville at the Vanderbilt stadium. It is of a blind guitarist playing “all I want is you“. We had already left the stadium not knowing this would be encore two or three. In part of the Vanderbilt campus, we began to dance and sing the song just to one another. The most beautiful part of that is other couples started doing the same. There was perhaps only a dozen or less couples. But when the song ended everyone kissed their partner and we applauded that we had all done it there were some bows included in that. It was one of the most romantic things I’ve ever been a part of. My husband and I do this thing where we rank special events in our life. For us seeing U2 live is both in our top three. We were in Vegas when they were the original act for the sphere. We could not afford tickets. So we listened to the music and cuddled. And until I found your channel, I did not know “bad” was about heroin abuse. Once 17:16 I learned that, I looked back up on my life when my uncle, a man who played music with both Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, struggled with his addiction for decades. The only good part of his story is he died clean. Clean for almost 6 months. Thank you for introducing your daughter to such incredible music. My parents did the same for me. And truly, it is life-changing.

hi i am 65 yrs old and from Dublin ...in 1978 i was 19 yrs old and saw U2 for the first time live [even back then i knew how good U2 were but actually worried about if they were going to make it] I was very fortunate back then because Bono lived about half a mile from my house so i met him many times especially before the Band were signed ....The amazing gigs in the Dandelion Market and Mcgonagles in the heart of Dublin City.....Fast forward to this amazing live performance of Bad at live aid in July 1985......What absolutely blows me away about the song and the performance is that hardly anyone in the audience would have known that song as it was a track from the 1984 Album Unforgettable Fire which was released on October 1st [Pride in the name of love was the big hit off that record] which they didn't play so what a risk they took playing [BAD] .......it's amazing even today the way Bono can stroll around Dublin and very few people would bother him. We are a funny auld nation us Irish ....Thanks for posting this great reaction video.

I remember Live Aid, in Philly 100+k people. It was epic. Before epic was a thing. Little known fact, U2 went into a local bar and evening prior and asked to use the bands equipment so they could do a little warm up. Pretty amazing stuff. So many bands, it should have gone on for days, instead of one. It was my generation’s Woodstock.

To make it fun. When she sings the rasp, both of you fall backwards in your seats and appear knocked out until the song is over and then slowly get up all shaky.

Dude. You need to stop talking and saying anything during the song. Just let her listen uninterrupted. I get it, you are so eager to explain everything that took you years of listening to figure out what you hear. Just set the song up...and let it do the talking. I had to leave a different u2 video because you just kept stopping it and destroying the mood. Chill bro. Let her have her own experience or just give her the link and let her listen alone.

It was a special energy, but I felt it only after watching the film BR - now I enjoy listening and watching a fantastic band, especially Freddie's energy works on me. When I saw his appearance on TV in my youth, I didn't like this fiery, dazzling man at all - now I love him indescribably and I know that he came from eternity to help me overcome grief... his energy has that power. Thank God!

Did you also know Freddie was recovering from a throat infection? He was told to Rest his voice for AT LEAST 3 WEEKS but he didn't take notice.
