Ok in the beginning, building too much farmers houses only delay you to reach workers and make more money out of everything. Workers pay more taxes for everything than farmers do! It goes this way with each tear! Never forget that when reach 1k for each tear you start to pay royal taxes which diminish your income terribly! When you produce fur coats and cannery for artisans hurts your budget, but when you upgrade more artisans to engineers you start collecting more money regardless from rum. With rum, of course you make lots of money and you can afford to build more weapon factories.
