I am beyond thrilled at even the possibility of using your patterns! You really hit the hammer on the nail about accessibility. I see your style of outfits, especially the capsule wardrobes, and wistfully sigh. Then I go back to wrangling my two year old, attempting to keep my house generally tidy, and planning for work as an elementary teacher. My level of accessibility currently is premade patterns, not making my own or heaps of altering that I wouldn't even know where to begin with. Good on you for making the leap into Patreon and offering your skills to others. Here's to your long term, and short term, success!

PATTERNS AHHHHHH Edit: I appreciate your commitment to sharing only quality resources, especially as there are a lot of people who would use poorly patterned plus sizing as a money grab. Hope to help make it happen!

I'm so excited for you!! And I'm so grateful that you've found your niche on KZbin because every single video you make is like "YES how did she know what I wanted but didn't know how to go about?!" Seriously though I had been hunting for months for history bounding stays/corset and could not find anything like what I wanted and all of your history bounding, both sewing and designing videos are the exact niche I was looking for and I'm so grateful for your content as it has really helped inspire me to get back into sewing. Thank you!! 🥰

100% This! I personally don't like cos-costubers since I don't like the 'impracticality' of what they make - Yes, you've made a fancy dress from a portrait, what are you gonna do with it now? I am also not 100% for the historical accuracy/remaking crowd because...Well...Shit happens, we don't live in 1850 anymore. And the sewtubers are also just making whatever dress went viral. I still watch all of those things because once in a while there's interesting info, but there is very few that's the exact niche I am interested in. Like, VERY few: making a practical yet ~fabulous~ not Genormous wardrobe with historical inspiration cus it's * pretty '* and people weren't all idiots in the past. (A lot of people tell me to 'just start your own channel then if you're complaining about what's out there' I tried. It gave me anxiety and made me make stupid choices. It isn't for me)

I admire how much though you put into this. Especially pattern grading, there's a reason why many companies make plus sizes a separate scale altogether. I wonder, though, if a personalized capsule size wardrobe would be an option in your store when you open it, or it's solely for Patreon? And it would be lovely if your patrons allow you to make a video out of it, watching you design is such an enjoyable experience.

I'm so excited for this! I absolutely love the things you sew and look forward to buying your patterns. You channel has been so inspiring I also apreciate you being upfront about accesssability and what you can offer. I'm on the cusp of the sizes offered and it's nice to have someone actually want to do things properly and not just expect people to pay for something that probably wont work for their body. I started making clothes because everything I bought didn't fit well and was made for someone much, much smaller than I am. Hopefully you can find the right person to help you and shares your vision for clothing

Same. Although Im finding more and more its just a few tweaks from women’s sizes and a FBA is the issue I always have to do. With RTW clothes, if it fits me in the bust it hangs baggy everywhere else and if it fits everywhere else it’s too tight in the bust. One day I’d love to get a reduction for many reasons. But for now this is it

OMG FINALLY ❤️ you are literally the only KZbinr that I was willing to invest in since I don’t have that much money, but your work is so incredible... and the things you offer are awesome as well! I think it’s the best offer out there so far when it comes to costuming!

Totally agree, I apreciate your approach to 18th century costumes, I like the realistic ballance you have in both historical accuracy and personal preferance. I also like your sewing techniques and that you dont just kill all joy by bragging about hand sewing mumbo-jumbo. (I mostly sew for my own small theatre... hand sewing stays to the utmost minimum there is just not enough time ever) By the way I love your vintage sewing machine. Could you add some tips on it's maintanance?

I love the term you mentioned, of becoming a patron as a means of investment, not donation. Because that is a philosophy I can really get behind, and a moral stance I admire. I would love to become your patron at some point, and will too the moment I gain the means for that! Thank you so much for your work!

So excited to see everything you have planned!! I appreciate you explaining your tiers and ideas you have! I'm so excited!! I fall in the category of I know how to hack and alter existing patterns. I have been working on drafting and sizing up historical patterns from books as well. So for me this really helps having a base to work up from! Thank you!

I really appreciate the work you do here and love your whole approach to it! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us, there's so much on your channel I've always been looking for, especially in terms of learning how to draft patterns and your takes on historybounding. I'm so excited for you! You truly have found a unique niche and I love your spirit of experimentation and enthusiasm. I hope you are able to launch a website eventually. I'm glad you expanded your thinking on accessibility. I think so many of us that are either rediscovering sewing or coming to it for the first time feel intimidated because sewing education is so lacking in the US. By the 80s home ec classes were eliminated in a lot of schools and now so many people don't have older family members that know how to sew so the skills aren't being passed on. Making that first cut into nice fabric still gives me anxiety lol. I appreciate you being mindful about the fit issue in drafting plus size patterns. I've bought patterns where it was clear that they had just plugged in numbers rather drafting with a plus size proportions in mind, and the fit can be so devastating. I'd rather wait a bit for you to be able to collaborate with someone, than to get a poorly drafted pattern.

It’s wonderful to see you and your channel growing!! I hope that you continue to grow your and look forward to seeing your patterns in larger sizes!! I can modify patterns and do some fitting but really prefer having a starting pattern. As usual my daughter is trying to get me to step out of my comfort zone and figure out how to make her a corset. Your sports bra/corset is really what she wants but with her body proportions I’m not sure how to go about this. I see a million mock ups in my future!!
