“On July 1 1940, the day after Guernsey had surrendered, Admiral Lindau decided to have a message dropped on the Jersey aerodrome calling for the surrender of the island. The flying of a white flag was the signal to denote acceptance but when Leutnant Richard Kern returned to check, the airfield was deserted with no flags displayed. The temptation to be possibly first German to set foot on British soil was too great and Kern promptly landed and, pistol in hand, marched up to the administration building. There he was told that the States had agreed a surrender so Kern informed the Admiral that Jersey was already under German occupation.” Excerpt From 'Seeloewe': The Road to Germany’s Planned Invasion of Britain Then and Now by Winston Ramsey

Can any one tell me who is the presenter name?

as the TV show was 1937-1987 (50yrs) and this was 30 years ago as well...even if the person presenting was only 20 years of age, they would be 100 by now, and not many people will still remember this black & white program... but...if you email Channel Television in Jersey (look it up on Google) it MAY give you a contact email address where you could make enquiries as they WILL have retained records there.....hope you get what you are looking for.... cheers
