Apparently they're relatively common. I just had mine treated today with a dermatologist - after living with it since about 2018. It was pretty straightforward and much less expensive than I anticipated. They used the very same device that this presenter demonstrated.

Thanks, Christine! I have had this procedure done in the past and it really made a difference. Can you advise preventative treatment? Special cleansers or topicals to stop them from forming?
@ChristineByerEsthetician
@ChristineByerEsthetician Жыл бұрын
I would say an enzyme and maybe a gentle retinol like the ones I have. They tend to form in oilier areas of the face so extra rubbing and irritation isn’t great. However thEre is a genetic component to them as well. Stephanie Kappell I think is her name... I am four months into what seems like it's going to be menopause for me and I'm 54. In the last couple months one of them sprouted up right on my nose to the left of center and I tried poking it and doing all kinds of things and the only thing that's lessened it somewhat is consistently putting 1% of Retin-A on it every night but I'm already in touch with the dermatologist to hopefully have is Zapped off... it's so frustrating. I read that it's very common to pop up right after going into menopause which is what is seemingly happening to me. Ugh... after going through our cycle for 40 years this is the thank-you we get we have to go through even more crap? Ugh ugh ugh 🙄

Thank you Christine for addressing this annoying condition I suffer with. Do you think that LED would help with this condition as well?
@ChristineByerEsthetician
@ChristineByerEsthetician Жыл бұрын
LED Helps regulate the skin and oil production but there’s a genetic component to these. If you have them already they probably need some sort of cauterizing treatment to get the oil to spill out the correct way, if that makes sense.

No. Make sure to go to someone who is very experienced. In my experience it leaves no scar. You could be thinking of a punch biopsy where they take like a whole punch to the area. (To scoop out a pore, for example.). That does leave a scar. This does not.
