The difference is that Aloe heals a set amount of hp and only starts to heal after a plant takes a sufficient amount of damage. Roman Healer heals zombies by percentage which is at 50% ignoring armor Meaning that Roman Healer can heal gargantuars 1800 hp, whilst Aloe can only heal a low amount of hp for most walls when they're already at low hp.

I never found chickens that bad since there are just so many counters to them, and they aren't even necessary for most strats. A single row of spikeweed can hold off infinite amounts of them if necessary, and even stuff like repeater can usually keep up with them. Just two lightning reeds should do the trick across all of wild west as well.

When playing Modern Day or Big Wave Beach, my 2 strategies for dealing with Octo zombies are: 1. As you mentioned, baiting the Octo. I usually plant Puff-shroom as they cost 0 sun and dig them before the octopus reaching the plant. 2. Use Magnifying Grass and just chilled. The ability to shoot whenever you want make those Octo Zombie useless against your defense. MG also works great against Surfing Zombies because if timing right, you can kill them before they put down their surfing boards

Pyre Vine is an AMAZING counter to Octo Zombie! Plant the Pyre Vines on the plants at the back of the lawn, and go up from there. It'll prevent your sun producers from ever getting Octo-fied.

Wizard is overrated. I find them useful in many cases as they defend frontline plants from being weaken while backline plants still damage them, and all your plants are free when you defeat them. It's so much less obnoxious than octopuses that have crapton of hp and you can't do anything to remove them when your plants can you attack forward yet octopuses are behind.

honorable mention to another very annoying zombie, the excavator zombie the excavator zombie is a zombie you encounter in lost city. This zombie has a golden shovel, and if he is close enough to a plant, he uses his shovel to throw them back 3 tiles. He also uses his shovel as a shield, blocking damage done in front of it, for example, if you place a peashooter in front of an excavator zombie, the peashooter will do no damage. A good counter against the excavator zombie would be a split pea + a icburg lettuce, a wallnut, or maybe a chard guard (i havent tried it with the chard gaurd).This is because excavator zombies cannot block damage from behind, making split pea a good counter. Once the excavator shovels up the split pea, the repeater on the back with start to damage it, when the excavator takes a few more steps forward, it wll either get frozen by the the iceburg lettuce, stalled by the wallnut, or launched back by the chard guard (i dont know if it works with chard guard), allowing split pea to get a few good hits and maybe kill the excavator, and once it does, you can shove the split pea and replace it back to its original spot, and replace the iceburg lettuce (if you are using it), or restore the chard guard (if you are using him).

Zcorp Consultant is the worst thing ever created. I use level 1 plants for Penny's Pursuit, so it always just obliterates my defenses even when I play against level 1 zombies, because they made her move and eat super fast for no good reason. How do you even code something that bad??? Also, in my opinion, Weasel Hoarder is harder to deal with than Chicken Wrangler, especially in higher-difficulty Penny's Pursuit levels. Even at level 7, chickens die to almost anything, so they aren't that big of a threat if you have a lot of projectiles on the lawn. Weasels, however, don't die to almost anything. It's so hard to efficiently get rid of them, especially in Penny's Pursuit, because what you used to get rid of chickens efficiently doesn't work on them. The best counters I have for weasels is using Shrinking Violet on the Weasel Hoarder or vanquishing her while she's stunned by Stunion, because then she won't summon weasels for whatever reason.
