I'm glad I leveled up Explode-o-Nut plant to Level 7. I agree this is a very good wll plant, which works as a bomb while holding up one line of zombies. 🙂

Explod-o-nut is arguably one of my favorite plants not because it's OP, but because it's the most interesting when it comes to balance. Many people assume that explod-o-nut absolutely breaks the game and is easier mode than Gold Bloom, but the truth is, you don't compare it to Cherry bomb as much as Primal Potato mine and in that sense, it's "weakness" becomes a lot clearer. Cherry bomb is meant to be an instant 3x3 destruction, which is SUPER necessary for taking out bosses like Z mech and the like, or zombies that don't attack at all. PRimal Potato mine does more damage by default, but also triggers based on proximity (and can multiply itself with plantfood) allowing for more coverage and getting that insta boom when the zombies touch it. Explod-o-nut is kind of like Jalapeno. you need a large number of zombies attacking it on it's own lane to get it to explode and while you can do some neat stuff with garlic or maybe Thyme Warp to catch several zombies in an explosion, it's arguably better to use primal potato mine or even cherry bomb since they will explode instantly catching other zombies. Plus many zombies don't actually eat (like Wizards or static zombies) which absolutely cripple Explode-o-nut. Thus used right, it's a powerful plant, but used wrong and you clearly show you're thinking of the numbers and not the application. I see mods trying to nerf it by doing sh8t like making it cost 400 sun and have a slow recharge..... why? So it's literally unusable at all? 200 sun would be balanced with the others as it's literally a cherry bomb and Wall nut, but it CAN hurt you more than help you if you spam it and NEED the explosions to go off before Wizards turn most of your plants to sheep and it's just sitting there near death but didn't die cause you killed the one zombie attacking it before it went off, then you gotta shovel it, or let that space remained occupied with a frankly useless plant. YOu'd never shovel up a Cherry bomb cause you can't, and you'd never shovel a primal potato mine cause it'll trigger on wizard zombies and boss zombies. That's why it's my favorite plant. You have to appreciate the fact that any nerf to the plant doesn't make the plant worse, it just makes the GAME worse. Keeping in mind the modders are the same kind of people who "hate" Blover because it has insta kill strats.... like forgive us for having a tower defense game with OPTIONS... if one HAS to nearly lose at BWB or Arena mode, then be our guest, but it doesn't make them a better player to deliberately use suboptimal plants just for bragging rights, then demand every other plant be nerfed.

Sun is never an issue in the game because its a 50 sun meta meaning that wall nuts only take 1 sun to get rather than 2 meaning your entire argument of "it's too expensive" is completely defeated. Also nuts aren't supposed to be spammable it would ruin what little balance this game has.

"Too expensive" means "WHy would you plant this over that if they accomplish the same thing?" there are cases where you may not bring in sun producers like in arena where sun economy is important to maintain, you just don't have time to flood for tons of sun. Same for Penny's pursuit where zombies come faster and harder. If you're one of those "Spam double gold bloom and Sun shroom + enlightenment to get 1000 sun off the cuff" more power to you, but it's not optimal to have TOO much sun either for counter point number 2 below: "Spammable would ruin what little balance this game has" if you actually PLAYED the game instead of watching videos, you'd realize there's something called LIMITED SPACE. PLants take up tiles, and often plants will do things that take up more tiles. If a space is dedicated to a wall, it's not being used for a sun producer or offense. Cover an entire map with wall nuts in a harder Penny's pursuit stage or Arena and tell me what score you get or how long you survive. Slow recharge and the fact that higher level zombies and insta destruction zombies like Gargs ARE the reason almost NO ONE seriously uses wall plants in the first place. Those come from experience. Not watching mod players brag about how easy the game is and wanting every plant to cost 300 sun at least and sun drops to give you like 10 sun. that doesn't make the game harder, it just makes it slower and punishes you for not playing a pre-calculated game. The flexiblity is what makes the game fun for everyone. Not counting the frames to your next plant placement....

4:41 Strongly disagree. The Citron is a strong plant that deals an insane amount if damage. It's ok that he's a but slow, otherwise he would be completely broken. Yes, he might cost a bit too much, be he's a solid defense.

Actually, cost does not matter. Since almost everyone use gold bloom, lack of sun os just Temporary + almost every wall plant have a VERY long cooltime. In my case, sweet potato is high B tier, endurian is lowest tier

It can in modes like Arena and Penny's pursuit where you may want to use lots of high cost plants and dont' have room or time for sun producers. That said, yeah Sweet potato being able to move zombies is extremely useful, just unfortunately outclassed by Hot Date cause she won't survive the harder missions long enough to make the zombie bunching really worth it, and hot date at least gets tempo. Yeah I'd say at least higher than Wall nut for Sweet Potato. moving zombies is a rare niche and must be respected.

Then you remember that a leveld up grave buster will explode like a potato mine when it finishes destorying the grave and is free and won't keep taking up the space. XD That's why Tomb Tangler needed those buffs. the space it takes up has to be worth placing it there in the first place.

I'll admit I was afraid he was talking about Holly Barrier when he talked about a plant that hurts you if you touch it (Endurain) cause Holly Barrier is GOATED. (easy A tier, arguably S if your blover timing is on point). However hey may have ranked it in "best plants that require manual activation". I'm not sure.

Bugs me too, some of the most creative plants are fusions, and frankly there's always reasons to use the individual versions if you don't need the combined powers. The variety is what makes Plants vs Zombies fun.
